As I said in my post yesterday it wasn't looking good weather wise for Gowran Park on Friday and today the inevitable announcement was made. Red Mills day is off with the Red Mills Hurdle transferring to Fairyhouse on Saturday with the rest of the card scheduled to take place at Gowran Park on Tuesday.
After Wednesday's postponement at Punchestown (the meeting will now take place on Monday) our next action is 7 races at Thurles on Thursday where the highlight comes at 3.50 when 8 begin the Markaye Contracts Ltd Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle. Grand Paradis is a promising horse who was impressive when winning at Fairyhouse 17 days ago,he comfortably came home by 9 lengths there with plenty more to offer he should take the step up in class in his stride making him hard to beat here. Goodbye Someday has picked up 3 wins from 7 runs this season his last was at Kilbeggan back in September since then he was a good second at Tipperary and a below form third at Cork when last seen at the beginning of November, despite that run he has an excellent chance. The other one to consider is Limestone Rock who arrives here after winning at Naas at the end of January by an easy 5 lengths and with further progress expected don't overlook him in this one.
Big race prediction: 6: Grand Paradis.
