Sunday was a terrible day for my picks and I apologise to anyone who read my post last night and followed them. At Downpatrick Shady Operator didn't finish, the 11/4 favourite struggled throughout and fell 4 out leaving the 17/2 chance Fag An Bealach to win. At The Curragh Godhead finished a lowly 23rd,the 22/1 shot was disputing 7th 3 furlongs out but fell down the field over a furlong from the finish as he had no extra pace with the 8/1 chance Layfayette winning.
We begin another week with 7 races at Navan where the feature contest is the 2.25 when 14 begin the Boyne Valley Maiden Hurdle. Nazine was a very good third over this course and race distance on debut 16 days ago he should build on that and go well again. Toughari is a fair hurdler who was 7th in his last race at Naas at the end of February but if he can recapture his late 2020 form which included a win at Fairyhouse then he will definitely challenge. Knight Of Malta is a promising horse who was second at Gowran Park when last seen 20 days ago he should build on that performance and give a good account here. An outsider to keep an eye on is Auckland who was a useful flat winner in his native Germany before moving to the yard of Anthony Mullins where his debut was a 9th at Gowran Park 20 days ago,he should progress and shouldn't be overlooked.
Big race prediction: 7: Nazine.
