Sunday saw Santiago finish 4th. The 8/13 favourite sat 3rd approaching the straight,he dropped to 4th just before the final furlong and made no impression in the closing stages with the 20/1 chance Baron Samedi picking up his sixth win in a row beating Master Of Reality by half a length.
It's going to be a busy week by the end of the action on Saturday we will have had 12 group one's at Punchestown with some of the best horses around making their first starts since Cheltenham. But we begin with 8 races at Naas on Monday where the main event is the 2.55 when 13 begin the Blackwater (Premier Handicap). HMS Seahorse was a very good second in a maiden at Leopardstown 15 days ago, that solid performance means he should be in the mix again here. Grid is a promising horse who finished fourth at Leopardstown when last seen in October, he returns after 6 months off and makes his handicap debut so should produce a bigger performance. Skilled Warrior is the other main threat he was a very creditable 2nd at Gowran Park 18 days ago, that was only his fifth start and with this being his handicap debut he definitely shouldn't be ruled out. The other one with a chance is Fourhometwo who was a very good third on his return at The Curragh at the end of March and he should give a good account of himself here.
Big race prediction: 6: HMS Seahorse.
