On Tuesday my pick Shahaada was 3rd. The 2/1 chance broke well to track the leaders and she sat 4th at halfway. She made no impression from early in the straight only moving up to 3rd keeping on at one pace in the final 150 yards. The 8/1 shot The Blue Panther easily won by 7 lengths.
A midweek double header sees 8 races at both Wexford and Navan. The main event at Wexford comes at 3.35 when 15 line-up for the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase. Great Khan picked up his career best win when last seen at Ballinrobe 23 days ago,he beat Wolfofallstreets by 9 lengths that day and he should definitely go well again. Ingleby Mackenzie was a good winner of a handicap chase at Clonmel just 5 days ago,he was well on top at the finish and is the main danger here. Our Dougal hasn't run since clearly not being at his best when pulled up at Cork in October 2018 he did however have two second place finishes before that at Punchestown and Kilbeggan and it's those performances that give him a chance. The other challenger should be Zarkareva who picked up her latest win in a chase at Punchestown back in October she returned there and was 3rd to Energumene in the Ryanair Novices Chase 48 days ago,she makes her handicap chase debut here and can't be overlooked. At Navan the big race is the 5.10 when 12 begin the Yellow Furze Mares Maiden Hurdle. Powerful Out was a good 5th on her hurdles debut at Punchestown 18 days ago,she is open to further improvement here and should get off the mark over hurdles. Must Be Obeyed looked promising when winning a bumper at Ballinrobe on heavy ground 23 days ago,she switches to hurdles here and is the main threat. Of the rest Donthavetime looks like a contender she was 8th in a bumper at Wexford when last seen 31 days ago,she has yet to pick up a victory in four starts but this is her hurdles debut so she can't be ruled out and could spring a surprise.
Big race predictions: Wexford: 4: Great Khan Navan: 11: Powerful Out.
