Saturday was an excellent day for my picks,at Killarney Abbey Magic was 4th. The 11/4 favourite was up with the leaders and on terms at the fifth. However she made no further impression before the last with the 4/1 shot Batcio winning by 3 lengths. At The Curragh both horses won. Agartha made all the running the 4/1 joint favourite kept on well to come home by 2 lengths. Point Lonsdale put in an even better performance to remain unbeaten, the 1/6 favourite was 2 lengths clear early in the final furlong pulling away to eventually win by 4 1/4 lengths.
The weekend comes to a quiet close with just 8 races at Naas on Sunday where the feature is the 4.05 when 19 begin the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden. Cyclamen is a promising horse who was a good 4th at Galway 21 days ago,she will do better here and is the pick on form and should open her account. Debana has impressed on both her starts a 3rd at Gowran Park on debut and a second on this course earlier this month, she should improve again and is definitely in the mix. Torn makes her debut here, this half-sister to Penelope Queen and Tattoo comes from a yard having a good spell and is respected. The other shortlisted is Past Time who was a good third in a Fillies maiden at Galway at the end of last month. She should perform well and has a chance.
Big race prediction: 5: Cyclamen.
