The best performance on Wednesday came at Wexford where Ganapathi won. The 11/10 favourite was 2nd at halfway soon disputing the lead. He led from 3 out going clear on the run-in easily beating Effernock Fizz by 9 lengths. At Cork Gustavus Weston was 4th. The 100/30 shot tracked the leaders and was 4th 1 1/2 furlongs out. Despite keeping on well he made no further impression allowing Geocentric to win by a short head. In the 7.10 Thunder Kiss was 6th. The 6/4 favourite was 3rd at halfway and led entering the straight. She was passed 1 1/2 furlongs out soon dropping to 4th. She had no extra in the final furlong while upfront Rosscarbery won by a neck.
Leopardstown hosts 7 races on Thursday with two highlights.
5.15: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
6: Shanghai Dragon: Despite being winless after 10 flat starts she has shown some good form this season. She was 4th in a handicap at The Curragh 19 days ago after a positive ride and she has every chance here back in maiden company.
6.15: Ballycorus Stakes (Group 3).
4: Dr Zempf: A useful colt who won a 2,000 Guineas trial over course and distance in April. He was fifth behind Buckaroo in a listed race at The Curragh when last seen 38 days ago however he was unsuited by the step up in trip and he should bounce back here returning to his winning distance.
