Saturday was a good day for all my picks, at The Curragh Proud And Regal was 3rd. The 5/4 favourite led narrowly at halfway being passed 2 out. He had no extra from a furlong out keeping on at the same pace inside the final furlong, Aesop's Fables won the race by 2 1/4 lengths. In the other Group 2 Meditate won. The 8/13 favourite made all the running asserting herself from a furlong out. Despite having her advantage reduced close to home she beat Olivia Maralda by 3/4 of a length. Over at Killarney Rock Road also won. The 11/4 favourite was 6th at halfway making headway to challenge from 2 out. He gained a narrow lead on the run-in staying on well to beat Exit Poll by 1 1/2 lengths.
There are 7 races at Naas on Sunday to finish a busy weekend and they have two highlights.
2.30: Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden.
6: Madly Truly: A horse with promise who finished second on debut at Leopardstown 80 days ago. She travelled well in the closing stages showing why she holds multiple group entries this season. With improvement likely she is a big player here.
4.00: Tally Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes (Group 3)
5: Benefit: A useful filly who was a bit below form when 6th behind Flotus in the Summer Stakes at York when last seen 44 days ago. She wasn't at her best there but is definitely worth another chance judged on her performance at Salisbury in June where she won the listed Cathedral Stakes by a length so she gets the nod.
