Saturday turned out to be a day of differing fortunes for my picks at The Curragh, in the Round Tower Stakes Tresure Trove won. The 6/4 favourite was towards the rear early making headway from a furlong out. She ran on well inside the final furlong leading towards the finish, she beat Ocean Quest by a short head. The 3.40 saw Juncture finish 3rd. The 11/8 favourite was briefly short of room 2 out but improved to sit 4th soon after. She went 3rd inside the final furlong keeping on at the same pace, Viareggio won the race by 2 1/4 lengths. The Irish Cambridgeshire was the big race of the day in which That’s Just Dandy was 15th, the contest was won by Federal who beat Good Heavens by a neck.
After today's top-class action Irish racing has a day off on Sunday, there are meetings at Goodwood, Yarmouth and Beverley. The next Irish cards are a double header at Downpatrick and Roscommon on Monday, tips for the highlights will be up on Sunday night.
