The best performance on Monday came at Cork where Ronald Pump finished 2nd. The 2/5 favourite tracked the leaders and led before the 6th. He was joined 4 out but led again before the next. He made a mistake 2 out and was passed making no impression from the last keeping on at one pace. Dallas Des Pictons won the race by 1 3/4 lengths. Over at Naas both Apricot Twist and Are We Dreaming came 9th.
A busy week continues with 7 races at Roscommon on Tuesday where two stand out.
5.25: J. F. Hanley Groundscare Beginners Chase.
4: Homme D'un Soir: A 2 time hurdles winner over this races trip who was a bit below form when 6th at Cartmel 17 days ago. Looking at the rest of the field this could be a good starting point for him over fences giving him the nod.
8.00: Paul Byron Shoes Handicap Hurdle.
9: Lucailem: Was a very good 3rd at Tipperary when last seen 75 days ago. With more to come this 6yo should go close here and pick up his first career win.
