Our one winner on Saturday was Galopin Des Champs, the 30/100 favourite ran well and was always in touch sitting 2nd entering the straight. He disputed the lead at the last taking over at the front soon after, he stayed on strongly inside the final furlong comfortably beating Stattler by 8 lengths afterwards he was quoted at 7/4 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. In the other races Lossiemouth was 2nd, the 1/3 favourite didn't travel well until the last where she moved into 2nd. She kept on but couldn't reach Gala Marceau who won by 2 1/2 lengths and Appreciate It was 3rd. The 11/8 favourite tracked the leaders disputing 2nd at the last. He made no impression on the run-in losing 2nd on the line, El Fabiolo won the race by an easy 10 lengths.
The Dublin Racing Festival reaches it’s climax at Leopardstown on Sunday where 3 more Grade One’s take centre stage.
1.40: Ladbrokes Novice Chase (Grade 1)
6: Mighty Potter: Put in an outstanding performance when completing a hat-trick in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse when last seen 63 days ago. He beat the reaposing Gaillard Du Mesnil by 4 1/2 lengths and with further progress expected this exciting prospect sets a high standard and should make it 4.
2.10: Ladbrokes Dublin Chase (Grade 1)
1: Blue Lord: A top-class horse who's only defeat in 7 fences starts came when he was 3rd in the Arkle at Cheltenham last season. He established himself in this sphere when winning the Paddy's Rewards Club Chase over course and distance 6 weeks ago making him the one to beat for a trainer who has won every running of this race.
3.10: Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle (Grade 1)
6: Honeysuckle: A fantastic mare who lost her unbeaten record when 3rd behind Teahupoo in the Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse on her return in December. She has won this race 3 times and can definitely bounce back and take this for a 4th time.
