The best Monday performance at Leopardstown came from Solness who won, the 4/5 favourite jumped well and had a 2 length lead at halfway. He asserted himself on the run-in keeping on to beat Hamundarson by 4 3/4 lengths. In the 2.15 Captains Nephew was a non-runner in a race won by Della Casa Lunga who beat Ideal Du Tabert by 6 1/2 lengths.
After a good start to the week Irish racing takes a two day break. There are meetings at Sandown, Newcastle, Lingfield and Southwell on Tuesday and Catterick, Fontwell, Lingfield and Kempton on Wednesday.
