22/5/23 Roscommon

Sunday's only winner at Naas was The Antarctic, the 13/8 favourite made all the running in the far side group and was two lengths clear 150 yards from the finish. He kept on well just holding on close to home beating Ocean Quest by a head. In the other two races both Mooneista and Ribchestina finished 4th.

There are eight races at Roscommon on Monday night with two main events.

5.25: Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden.

10: Port Louis: A promising horse who was a good 4th at The Curragh when last seen 3 weeks ago. He kept on well inside the final furlong taking 4th in the closing stages. He was suited by the increase in trip there so going up again here will help. He has more to offer and in a field full of newcomers his experience gives him the nod.

6.55: Shanagher Hearing Maiden.

9: Hutton Glen: A decent horse who built on his debut when 2nd at Gowran Park 19 days ago. He ran well throughout but couldn't reach the winner grabbing 2nd close to the finish. He should appreciate this longer trip and with improvement expected he looks like the one to beat here.
