There were two winners on Friday both at Cork, in the Munster Oaks Rosscarbery was 4th at halfway travelling well to lead from 2 out. Despite being pressed inside the final furlong she kept on to beat Azazat by 1/2 a length. The 7.10 saw Star Kissed be prominent early sitting 3rd three out. The 5/2 favourite led from a furlong out just doing enough to hold on and beat Safecracker by a neck. The only tip who didn't win was Pretreville who was 3rd at Fairyhouse in a race won by Vernet who beat Monaasib by 1/2 a length.
Seven races at Downpatrick on Saturday kick off the weekend with two highlights.
1.45: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.
4: Angelsworknovrtime: Ran the best race of her career when returning after 7 months off to finish 3rd at Limerick 22 days ago. The step back up in trip here should suit and a repeat performance could be enough to see her take this and continue to go in the right direction.
3.30: Tote Always SP Or Better At Downpatrick Handicap Chase.
2: Bal Kauto: A promising horse who has shown improvement since switching yards winning his last two starts, at Limerick last month and on chase debut at Clonmel just 8 days ago. He asserted himself from 2 out there coming home by 1/2 a length. With further progress likely he can complete a quick-fire hat-trick here.
