Our winner on Friday came at Cork where Winter Fog was in touch with the leaders making headway from 4 out. He led soon after despite jumping to the right keeping on well towards the finish and comfortably beating Gallant John Joe by 2 3/4 lengths. At Kilbeggan Stealthy Tom was 2nd, the 5/1 shot was in midfield making headway on the final circuit. He moved into 2nd two out but had no extra in the closing stages allowing Foxy Jacks to win by 1 1/4 lengths.
A quiet Irish weekend sees 8 races at Navan on Saturday with two main events.
1.20: Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden.
1: Chandigah: A lightly-raced horse who improved on his debut when an excellent 2nd at The Curragh 15 days ago. He recovered from a poor start to lead at halfway but he was passed a furlong out making no impression in the final 100 yards going down by a length. He went off at 66/1 that day and sets a good standard here as he attempts to open his account.
3.35: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.
1: Bright Legend: Impressed when winning at The Curragh when last seen back in April. He travelled well from 2 out and despite drifting to the left inside the final furlong he stayed on to lead close to home beating the useful Young Ireland by 3/4 of a length. He has been off since but he should continue to improve and follow up here.
