The best performance on Friday came at Down Royal where Whiskey Sour was 2nd, the 15/8 favourite made headway from 3 out moving into 2nd soon after. He challenged at the last but made no impression on the run-in keeping on at one pace allowing Tullybeg to win by 2 1/4 lengths. Over at Wexford Lucky Zebo finished 3rd, the 5/2 favourite was 4th at halfway going into 3rd entering the straight. He was disputing the lead when hampered a furlong out and had no extra in the final 100 yards. Joyeux Machin won beating Effernock Fizz by 1 1/4 lengths.
There are 8 races at Navan on Saturday with 2 taking centre stage.
1.40: Irish EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden.
4: Ciao For Now: A promising horse who was a good second on debut at Leopardstown just 9 days ago. She was 3rd at halfway travelling well to grab 2nd in the final 100 yards but she wasn’t able to reach the winner. She will have learnt a lot from that run and with her yard in good form she can go one better here.
2.15: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Rated Race.
4: Megarry: A horse with good recent form who put in a career best run when winning at The Curragh 2 weeks ago. He led from 2 1/2 furlongs out keeping on in the closing stages to come home by 1 1/2 lengths. That performance makes him the one to beat here and he can follow up.
