An excellent Thursday at Clonmel saw both my picks win, in the opener Money Heist was 3rd at halfway improving to lead 2 out. The 7/4 favourite was challenged soon after but asserted himself before the last keeping on strongly comfortably coming home by 2 lengths. In the later race Quai De Bourbon tracked the leaders early and despite a slight mistake 3 out he led entering the closing stages. He was pressed but kept on well under pressure beating Westport Cove by 1/2 a length.
There is a double header on Friday which sees 7 races in the rearranged meeting at Naas and 8 at Dundalk with 2 standing out.
Naas 1.42: Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle (Grade 1)
4: Firefox: A 3-time bumper winner who stood out on all fronts when successful on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse 6 weeks ago. He led entering the straight staying on well on the run-in to win by 2 1/2 lengths. That performance shows he is worth his place at this higher level and he can achieve a 5-timer here.
Dundalk 5.15: One Of The Only Dual Racetracks In Europe Maiden.
10: Nerano: A decent horse who showed promise on debut when 3rd over course and distance 35 days ago. He tracked the leaders briefly challenging from 2 out, he kept on to take 3rd inside the final furlong. He should improve and build on that here making him the one to beat.
