The winner at Punchestown on Sunday was Salvator Mundi. The 8/15 favourite tracked the leaders sitting 4th at halfway, he made headway to lead approaching the last and despite not being fluent he kept on well on the run-in beating Kel Histoire by 3 lengths. In the other race Down Memory Lane was 2nd. The 6/4 shot travelled well early and was 2nd at halfway. A bad mistake at the last ended any challenge allowing Lecky Watson to win by 8 lengths.
There is a second day at Punchestown on Monday with 7 races and 2 main events.
1.18: John Thomas McNamara Series (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle.
4: Ragmans Corner: A decent horse who picked up a first career win at Galway in October. He was a very good second at Fairyhouse when last seen 30 days ago sitting 4th entering the straight delivering a challenge 2 out, he disputed the lead soon after but was passed approaching the last keeping on without reaching the winner. He can build on that here and go one better.
2.48: 50,000 Betvictor Graduation Bonus Series Maiden Hurdle.
4: Custom Taylor: A promising horse who has one win from three runs this season, that came at Kilbeggan in May and he was a creditable 2nd at Limerick 15 days ago. He was 2nd most of the way briefly dropping to 3rd two out, he regained 2nd on the run-in but didn't trouble the winner. He should progress further here and return to winning ways.
