An excellent Friday at Dundalk saw both my picks win, in the 4.30 Magellan Strait was 2nd at halfway challenging 2 out. The 30/100 favourite kept on well inside the final furlong leading on the line beating Longclaw by a short head. The later race saw San Andreas make all the running going 2 lengths in front at halfway. The 1/20 favourite drew further clear in the final furlong beating Point Gellibrand by 6 lengths.
If a 7.30am inspection is passed then there will be 7 races at Navan on Saturday with 2 main events.
12.45: Race Displays Rated Novice Hurdle.
2: Asian Master: Made an excellent start for Willie Mullins when winning at Thurles on hurdles debut 34 days ago. He led from 4 out and despite being challenged he kept on well on the run-in coming home by 3/4 of a length. Improvement is on the cards and this exciting prospect looks like the one to beat here.
1.55: Navan Handicap Hurdle.
1: Harvard Guy: A promising horse who's 2 wins from 2 runs this season have come over course and distance, his last was in a listed race 5 weeks ago. He travelled well to move into a narrow lead 3 out and despite being passed he was in front again before the last staying on to beat the reopposing Lord Erskine by 2 lengths. With further progress expected he can complete a hat-trick here.
