Sunday's winner at Naas was Bucanero Fuerte, the 2/1 shot made all the running and despite being put under pressure in the final furlong he stayed on well to beat Givemethebeatboys by a head. In the other race Sparkling Sea was 2nd, the 5/2 chance was 3rd early moving into 2nd 1 1/2 furlongs out. She challenged in the closing stages but couldn't reach the winner Fairy Godmother who came home by a neck.
Another week begins with 7 races at Roscommon on Monday night where there are 2 highlights.
5.50: Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden.
1: Green Triangle: A decent-looking newcomer who is related to a useful 2-y-o winner Whim. He wears a tongue strap here and with the experienced runners in this field not having achieved much he is definitely one to take seriously and can open his account on debut.
6.50: JTW Distribution Roscommon Maiden.
11: Kisiyra: A lightly-raced filly who was a creditable 4th at Gowran Park when last seen 27 days ago, she led after two furlongs staying at the front until she was challenged a furlong from the finish. She was soon passed having no extra dropping to 4th in the final 100 yards. She has the best form on show here and can pick up her 1st career win.
