On Saturday at Navan the best came from Blaze The Way who was 2nd. The 6/1 shot was 3rd early improving to lead from 2 out, he was strongly pressed before the last being passed on the run-in by Music Of Tara who won by 1 1/4 lengths. The days other pick Ballygunner Castle was 4th in a race won by James’s Gate who beat C'est Ta Chance by 3/4 of a length.
7 races take place at Thurles on Sunday with 2 topping the bill.
1.30: Carey Glass Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2)
1: Only By Night: A promising horse who picked up a career best win in a Grade 2 at Cork 42 days ago. She was fifth at halfway travelling well to lead 2 out, she kept on strongly on the run-in easily beating the reopposing Nara by 3 3/4 lengths. The step up in trip shouldn't be a problem and with more to come she can complete a hat-trick here.
2.05: Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase (Grade 2)
2: Blood Destiny: A smart chaser who was in top form last season his highlight being a Grade 3 success at Naven beating Spillane's Tower by 6 1/2 lengths. He was pulled up before the last on his final outing at Punchestown in May but despite being off 8 months he is well worth another chance and he can take this on his return.
