17/5/25 Navan & Wexford

Friday's winner came at Leopardstown where Kyprios was 2nd after 3 furlongs moving into the lead soon after. The 1/14 favourite went clear in the closing stages keeping on well to beat Dallas Star by 1 1/2 lengths. Over at Kilbeggan Slane Hill was 3rd in a race won by Ad Caelum who beat Dartan by a head.

On a busy Saturday there are 8 races at Navan and 7 at Wexford with 3 topping the bill.

Navan 3.50: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Yeats Stakes.

5: Butterfly Wings: A horse with promise who picked up a career best win at Leopardstown just 6 days ago. She was 3rd at halfway travelling well to lead from a furlong out. She asserted herself in the final 150 yards comfortably coming home by 4 lengths. She goes up in trip here for a yard in good form and can follow up.

Wexford 4.10: Support The Irish Injured Jockeys Fund Handicap Hurdle.

7: Gullig: A horse who arrives in decent form winning at Cork in March by an impressive 20 lengths and then finishing runner up on her last two starts including back at Cork 27 days ago. With further improvement likely she has to be taken seriously and should go one better here.

Navan 5.00: Royal County Handicap.

4: Light As Air: A decent horse who ran his best race to date when 2nd at Leopardstown 48 days ago. He was short of room 2 out but recovered staying on well taking 2nd close to home. There is definitely more to come and he can achieve a first career win here.
