Friday's only winner came at Cork where Fort Vega was 4th from a furlong out making headway to lead in the final 200 yards, the 13/2 shot kept on well beating Heavenly Power by 1 3/4 lengths. The other races saw Bubble Gum finish 5th with the contest going to Magical Hope who beat Lemsairbat by 2 1/4 lengths while at Fairyhouse The Right One was a non-runner.
On Saturday we have 7 races at Downpatrick where there are 2 main events.
1.40: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.
1: Kenisa Sport: A decent horse who opened her account on this course 36 days ago. She was 5th two out making good headway to take 3rd entering the straight. She improved further to lead from a furlong out staying on strongly and coming home by 5 1/2 lengths. The slightly longer trip here is in her favour and she can follow up on hurdles debut.
3.25: Join Racing TV Now With A Free Trial Handicap Chase.
2: Gorthill: A good horse who was a respectable 2nd in a hunters chase on this course 3 weeks ago. He led early but faced a challenge and was passed in the final 100 yards going down by a neck. He makes his handicap chase debut here and on form should go one better.
