Sunday's best came at Galway where Bal Kauto was 3rd. The 6/4 favourite was at the rear early making progress from 4 out, he improved challenging before 2 out leading approaching the last. He was passed inside the final furlong having no extra, upfront Millforce beat Ballybawn Belter by 1/2 a length. Over at Wexford Battle Of Ridgeway was 4th in a race won by Nouvotic who beat Release The Beast by 1 3/4 lengths.
We begin a new week with a Monday double header that sees 8 races at Galway and 7 at Wexford with 2 main events.
Galway 12.35: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
10: Venosa: A useful filly who has run at the top level on her last two starts including when 8th in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp 22 days ago. She was a pacemaker for Diamond Necklace there and wasn’t disgraced, now back in calmer waters she is the one to beat here.
Wexford 3.30: Michael Hickey Memorial Chase.
5: Blizzard Of Oz: A smart horse who was last seen finishing an excellent 2nd in a listed race at Punchestown back in May. He sat 3rd three out disputing the lead soon after, he was passed at the last going down by a head. If putting in close to the same performance here on his return then he can achieve a 4th career win.
