31/1/26 Leopardstown

Friday's winner at Dundalk was Genoah. The 3/1 shot was at the rear early but improved into 3rd a furlong out, he challenged in the closing stages leading in the last strides beating San Andreas by a head. The days other pick Aurevoir Tristesse was 6th in a race won by Handshake who beat Nermal by 1 1/4 lengths.

If an early morning inspection is passed then the Dublin Racing Festival will begin at Leopardstown on Saturday with a 7 race card and 3 Grade One's taking centre stage.

1.50: Gannon's City Recovery & Recycling Services Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 1.)

4: Narciso Has: A good horse who's last win came in a Grade 2 over course and distance on Boxing Day. He led for a second time 3 out going clear early in the straight, he had an increased advantage on the run-in coming home by 11 lengths. He is the one to beat here and should follow up.

2.55: Goffs Irish Arkle Novice Chase (Grade 1.)

2: Romeo Coolio: A fine horse who is unbeaten since switching to fences completing a hat-trick on this course last time. He was 4th at halfway improving to lead close to home winning by 1/2 a length. With more to come he should achieve the 4-timer here.

3.30: Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup (Grade 1.)

6: Galopin Des Champs: A standout horse who won this race for a 3rd time 12 months ago. He was 2 lengths clear at halfway eventually coming home by 4 3/4 lengths. He suffered a rare defeat when 3rd in the Savills Chase over course and distance on his return in December and with that under his belt he should make it four Gold Cup's in a row here.
