1/11/21 Laytown

It wasn't a great end to the weekend for my picks,at Cork Russian Diamond was 5th. The 11/2 shot was at the rear of midfield early Sitting 8th after the 11th. He made some effort before 3 out but a mistake 2 out saw him weaken. The 16/1 chance Braeside won beating Screaming Colours by 3 lengths. At Naas it was worse with Duffle Coat finishing 8th. The 7/2 favourite made some headway from 4 out but made no impression after not getting a clear run under 3 out. He sat 10th entering the final furlong keeping on at one pace. The 33/1 shot Yaxeni won by 1/2 a length.

The week gets underway with a meeting at a unique racecourse Laytown. Located in County Meath it's the only course in Europe to run races on a beach,it's a 7 furlong straight track that hosts racing on just one day a year due to the fact it's a temporary course. The highlight of this years 6 race card comes at 4.20 when 6 begin the Gilna's Cottage Inn Race. Raamez wasn't disgraced on his latest flat start at Roscommon in August. Despite finishing 9th in a big field he looks to have a good chance here. These Days is a fair horse who finished 7th at Dundalk when last seen in November last year, his yard is in good form and he should be respected on his return. Berliet Express last won in a handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan in August. He easily came home by 8 lengths and with this being his flat debut he should go well. An outsider to keep an eye on is Dalvey he was 5th in a claimer at Dundalk just 5 days ago and if he can find the form that saw him pick up his only victory on the flat at Gowran Park in June he could be a surprise winner.

Big race prediction: 6: Raamez.

31/10/21 Cork + Naas

In the big race on Saturday my pick Minella Indo was 3rd. The 5/4 favourite was behind the leader in 2nd early challenging before 2 out. He soon dropped to 3rd making no impression before the last,he kept on at the same pace on the run-in while upfront the 3/1 chance Frodon won. The only British raider beat Galvin by 3/4 of a length.

The weekend and the month come to a close on Sunday with 7 races at Cork and 8 at Naas, the main event at Cork is the 3.00 when 13 line-up for the Paddy Power Cork Grand National Handicap Chase. Russian Diamond picked up his career best win in a novice chase at Fairyhouse 22 days ago,he kept on well to come home by 5 1/2 lengths. Despite going significantly up in trip and making his handicap chase debut here another performance like that should make him hard to beat. Braeside finished 6th at Fairyhouse when last seen back in February. He went off the even money favourite but had no extra at the last,he goes up in trip as well and is likely to have been primed for a big run in his time off so he is the main challenger. The other to put on your shortlists is Mister Fogpatches his 1 win this season came at Punchestown in May and he was a creditable 4th on his last outing at Listowel 37 days ago. He goes back up in trip here and should be competitive.

At Naas their big race comes at 3.45 when 23 begin the Colm White Bookmaker November Handicap. In a big field Duffle Coat looks the most interesting. He last won at Cheltenham in November last year but was a good third in a maiden at Thurles 24 days ago. He will relish a good test and given his useful hurdles form he is the pick. Powerful Aggie picked up her career best win at Leopardstown 15 days ago. She just about held on but going significantly up in trip here means she should challenge. Of the rest the best is one of the Willie Mullins horses Maze Runner who last won at Leopardstown in February but was a good 3rd at The Curragh 3 weeks ago. He should have more to offer and shouldn’t be overlooked.

Big race predictions: Cork: 1: Russian Diamond   Naas: 18: Duffle Coat.

30/10/21 Down Royal

The week ended on a positive note for my picks. At Down Royal Zanahiyr won,the 8/13 favourite made most of the running but he was challenged 3 out. He led from 2 out going clear on the run-in. He stayed on strongly easily beating Cask Mate by 8 lengths. Over at Dundalk Laugh A Minute finished 2nd. The 3/1 favourite was 8th approaching halfway. He made headway on the straight and challenged, he kept on well inside the final furlong without reaching the winner Arcanears. The 12/1 shot came home by 1/2 a length.

Saturday is day 2 at Down Royal and the highlight is the best race of the weekend when at 2.50 5 begin the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Champion Chase. This contest centre's around Cheltenham Gold Gup winner Minella Indo who makes his return. He beat stablemate A Plus Tard by 1 1/4 lengths to land jump racing's biggest prize back in March and will be very hard to beat if he picks up from where he left off but he does have some tough competition. Galvin is a high-class chaser who picked up his 6th win in a row when beating Annamix in a Grade 3 at Punchestown 17 days ago. He should have more to offer and can easily make it 7 wins here. The other main challenger is the only British raider Frodon. Another brilliant chaser who won the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day last year and after finishing 5th in the Gold Cup at Cheltenham he didn't need to improve to land the Oaksey Chase at Sandown when last seen in April. He is a frontrunner and will give this a good shot.

Big race prediction: 4: Minella Indo.

29/10/21 Down Royal + Dundalk

It was a good Thursday with my pick First Touch winning. The 3/1 favourite was 2nd early but wasn't fluent after a slignt mistake at the 6th. He closed on the leader after the 9th and led at the next. He was joined entering the straight but led again 2 out,he asserted himself before the last keeping on well to beat Ciao Bella by 1 3/4 lengths.

We round off the week with 7 races at Down Royal and 8 at Dundalk, the highlight of the first of two excellent days at Down Royal is the 2.20 when just 5 begin the WKD Hurdle. Zanahiyr won his first three races over hurdles including a Grade 2 at Leopardstown before finishing 4th in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham after going off as favourite. He was a very good second in the Grade 1 Champion Four Year Old Hurdle at Punchestown on his last outing and is my pick on this his season debut. Cask Mate is the main  challenger and has fitness on his side after winning on his flat debut at Bellewstown 30 days ago. He is a useful hurdler as well with two wins and a creditable second in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse to his name last year so he is definitely a threat. Of the others the only one with a slight chance is Bonarc. She was 5th in a handicap hurdle when last seen at Punchestown 16 days ago but faces a stiffer task here.

At Dundalk their main event comes at 5.45 when 11 start the View Restaurant At Dundalk Handicap. Laugh A Minute was a very creditable 2nd in a stronger race at York 20 days ago,he kept on well despite being hampered in the final furlong and is the choice here to finally be rewarded for his recent form. Ramon Di Loria was a winner at Sligo in May and a respectable 4th on this course 3 weeks ago so he definitely deserves consideration. The other who could challenge is Big Baby Bull,he hasn't won since June last year but he was a good third in a handicap at Leopardstown 6 days ago so he can’t be discounted.

Big race predictions: Down Royal: 1: Zanahiyr  Dundalk: 1: Laugh A Minute.

28/10/21 Clonmel

At Dundalk on Wednesday my pick Enjoymyslipstream was 3rd,the 9/4 shot chased the leader in 2nd early on dropping to 3rd 1 1/2 furlongs out. She disputed 2nd in the final furlong but made no impression dropping back to 3rd close to home. The race was won by the 5/4 favourite Special Power.

Clonmel hosts the action on Thursday where the highlight of a 7 race card comes at 3.30 when 11 begin the www.grahamnorris.com Memorial Handicap Hurdle. First Touch made all the running when winning by 1 1/2 lengths at Roscommon in September. He followed that up with a very creditable 2nd over fences at Punchestown 16 days ago,he switches to hurdles here and should give another good account. Sassy Yet Classy is a course and distance winner who's latest victory was here in November last year. She was a good second in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown when last seen back in March and has to be taken seriously if ready for her reappearance. The other worthy of consideration is Thunderosa who was on the up after wins at Cork and Wexford but he was a bit below form when 10th at Punchestown 5 months ago, that was a blip and after a good summer break he can’t be ruled out.

Big race prediction: 7: First Touch.

27/10/21 Dundalk

Tuesday didn't go well with my pick Micro Manage finishing 6th. The 11/8 favourite was slowly away but made some headway to sit 6th 3 out. He made no impression from 2 out keeping on at the same pace without ever threatening. The 5/2 shot Raise You comfortably won by 6 lengths.

The midweek meeting sees 8 races at Dundalk where the feature is the 4.30 when 7 begin the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Maiden. Enjoymyslipstream showed plenty of promise when 4th on debut at Naas 10 days ago. The three who finished in front of her there all had previous experience and she should be better for the run just giving her the nod. Special Power was a good second at The Curragh 2 weeks ago despite being slowly away. He makes his polytrack debut here and definitely has the ability to go one better. El Magnifique built on his third place debut when 2nd at Naas just over a week ago. His yard is in good form and he should go well. The other on the shortlist is Hernes Hill he was a good third on this course on debut 19 days ago and can build on that performance so is a threat.

Big race prediction: 6: Enjoymyslipstream.

26/10/21 The Curragh

Monday saw good results for both my picks,at Galway Timiyra was 4th. The 2/1 chance tracked the leaders and was 2nd at halfway. She dropped to 4th by a furlong out offering no extra while upfront the 5/4 favourite The Algarve won by 2 1/4 lengths. Over at Wexford the impressive Eklat De Rire won on his season return. The 10/11 favourite was in the lead after the 2nd and despite being passed he led again before the 8th. Despite not being fluent all the way he asserted his authority before the last comfortably beating Conflated by 4 1/2 lengths.

The week continues with 7 races at The Curragh on Tuesday where the highlight comes at 2.20 when 12 line-up for the Paddy Power Amateur Riders Derby. Micro Manage is a course and distance winner in his career but he found his stamina stretched when finishing 10th in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last time. However this smart horse goes back down in trip here and looks like the one to beat. Barbados ended a long losing run when he was first past the post at Listowel in September, he followed that up with an encouraging second on his hurdles debut at Punchestown 12 days ago so he deserves respect. The other feared is Raise You who is also a course winner and was a respectable 8th in the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot 10 days ago. He goes significantly up in trip here and with his trainer going well he shouldn’t be taken lightly.  Of the rest the one to keep an eye on is Protagonist he picked up his latest win at Fairyhouse in July but put in a rare poor showing at Listowel last time out however he is the type to bounce back and can't be ruled out.

Big race prediction: 2: Micro Manage.

25/10/21 Galway + Wexford

Sunday was a good day for both my picks,at Galway The Dabbler was 2nd. The 11/4 favourite was 4th at halfway,he made headway to challenge early on in the run-in disputing the lead just over a furlong out. He kept on well under pressure just failing to reach the winner Theatre World who won by a head. At Wexford Bold Emperor finished 3rd,the 6/1 chance disputed the lead early and despite a mistake at the 6th he recovered to lead at the 7th. He was soon clear but had his lead reduced from 3 out and he was passed soon after. He railed to lead again before the last but another mistake cost him. He had no extra and lost the lead inside the final 50 yards with the 9/1 shot Cushinstown Finest winning by 3/4 of a length.

Another busy week gets underway with 8 races at Galway and 7 at Wexford, the main event on a third day at Galway is the opener at 1.35 when 8 begin the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden. Timiyra produced her best performance when 2nd at Thurles almost 3 weeks ago. Despite being no match for the winner she should improve and has to be taken seriously. The Algarve ran much better than her debut when she finished 4th at Gowran Park 37 days ago. With further progress expected she should definitely be respected here. Looking at the rest of the field Native Queen looks good, this is her debut but this half-sister to Isotope and Flower Garland is impressive on paper. Her trainer Joseph O’Brien is on a good run and this interesting newcomer could surprise everyone.

At Wexford the feature contest on their second day comes at 3.30 when just 5 line-up for the listed Betvictor M.W. Hickey Memorial Chase. Eklat De Rire impressed when winning over fences at Punchestown and Naas last season and was in contention when he unseated Rachael Blackmore at the 12th in the Brown Advisory at the Cheltenham Festival when last seen in March. He should be one of the best staying chasers this season and get his campaign off to a winning start here. The two who should fill the other places are The Big Dog a useful chaser who won a handicap chase at Punchestown on his last outing back in February. He found something extra in the closing stages and despite being off 8 months he is a major player as is Fairyhill Run another useful chaser who has 4 wins from 8 runs this season her last was at Kilbeggan in August. She was a bit below form when 8th at Limerick 15 days ago but she can still challenge for minor honours.

Big race predictions: Galway: 6: Timiyra  Wexford:2: Eklat De Rire.

24/10/21 Galway + Wexford

Saturday wasn't a bad day for both my picks,at Galway Buck Rogers was 4th. The 4/1 chance was at the rear early sitting 10th after the 7th. He made some progress from 2 out keeping on at one pace in 4th on the run-in with the 11/4 favourite Jiving Jerry winning by a head. At Leopardstown Duke De Sessa won,the 11/2 shot was at the back but made headway early in the straight to sit 7th a furlong out. He kept on well inside the final furlong to lead close to home beating Piz Badile by 1/2 a length.

Another weekend comes to an end with 8 races at Galway and 7 at Wexford, the main event at Galway is at 2.17 when 9 begin the Marlin Hotel Dublin, Supporting The National Breast Cancer Research Institute Handicap Chase. The Dabbler has 2 wins from 4 runs this season his last was a Chase at Gowran Park 22 days ago. He returns to handicap company here and the hat-trick is on the cards. Theatre World was on course for a win before unseating his rider at the last at Listowel 30 days ago so he has to be taken seriously.  The other to keep an eye on is Tesseract who is a course and distance winner and was a good second in a handicap chase when last seen at Tipperary at the beginning of this month. He goes significantly up in trip here and definitely has a chance so is of interest.

The highlight at Wexford is the 4.20 when 13 line-up for the Jim and Kay Whitty Memorial Handicap Chase. Bold Emperor last won at Sligo in September and probably would have picked up another victory if he hadn't fallen 2 out when leading at Galway 3 weeks ago despite that he is still the one to beat here. Marshalled already has 2 wins from 3 runs this season his last was a career best at Gowran Park 22 days ago,he stayed on to win by 1/2 a length and is definitely the main threat. The only other on the shortlist is Exit To The West she last won at Cork in January and was a creditable 4th in a handicap chase at Navan when last seen back in March. Despite being off 7 months she has a slight chance if she can dictate how the race is run as she enjoys jumping to the right.

Big race predictions: Galway: 6: The Dabbler  Wexford: 11: Bold Emperor.

23/10/21 Galway + Leopardstown

The week closed with differing results for my picks,at Sligo Churchstonewarrior won. The 2/1 shot ran well to sit 3rd 3 out. He challenged entering the straight and led at the last,he stayed on to easily beat Highland Sting by 6 lengths. It didn't go as well at Dundalk with Lady In France finishing 6th. The 8/1 chance was third early but made no impression from a furlong out. She weakened inside the final furlong with the 18/5 winner The Highway Rat coming home by 1 1/4 lengths.

The weekend gets underway with 7 races at Galway and 8 at Leopardstown, the main event at Galway is the 3.37 when 13 begin the W.B. Galvin & Co Handicap Hurdle. Buck Rogers was a very good second on his first run for a new yard at Limerick 2 weeks ago. He stuck to his task well there and is worth a chance to go one better here. Wearapinkribbon was a creditable 3rd in a hurdle at Wexford when last seen at the end of May,his stamina was tested that day so a drop in trip will suit on both his handicap hurdle debut and season return. The other to consider is Guiri he has one win from two runs this season that came at Punchestown in April and he was a respectable 6th on this course on his last outing 87 days ago so he definitely deserves respect.

Over at Leopardstown their feature comes at 5.10 when 13 line-up for the Group 3 Eyrefield Stakes. Many in the field have potential but the pick goes to Duke De Sessa, he has one win from three runs this year that came at The Curragh in August. He returned there to tackle Group 1 company in the National Stakes 41 days ago but he could only finish 6th however a drop back down to a Group 3 is a plus and he should definitely progress giving him the nod. Piz Badile impressed when winning at Killarney on debut in July. He narrowly came home by a neck there and with improvement likely he can challenge. Anchorage picked up his career best win at Thurles 16 days ago,he forged clear to win by 4 lengths and going up in grade here makes him a player. There are two others worthy of a mention, Boundless Ocean was a promising 2nd on debut at The Curragh and was unlucky when 4th in a Group 3 on this course a week ago with another good showing likely here while Grenoble built on his 2nd place debut when winning at Nottingham 17 days ago. He showed guts and determination there with this useful prospect definitely having more to offer.

Big race predictions: Galway: 11: Buck Rogers  Leopardstown: 4: Duke De Sessa.

Thursday, October 21, 2021

22/10/21 Sligo + Dundalk

The big race on Thursday saw my pick Stratum win,the 11/10 favourite made a good start and was 3rd 4 out. He pushed on to lead from 2 out asserting himself to be 3 lengths clear before the last. He kept on well beating Doctor Duffy by 6 lengths.

We end the week with 7 races at Sligo and 8 at Dundalk, the main event at Sligo comes at 4.05 when 8 begin the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle. Churchstonewarrior is a promising horse who after a win at Thurles in January was a very good second when he returned there at the end of February,if it hadn't been for a final-flight mistake he would have gone close that day but he is still open to improvement and gets the nod here on his return. Humble Glory was a very creditable 2nd on her third start over hurdles at Roscommon last month and another performance like that will see her go well and challenge. The other who enters calculations is Midnight It Is,he picked up a good second place finish on his hurdles debut at Downpatrick 2 weeks ago and he definitely has a chance.

The big race at Dundalk is the 7.15 when 9 line-up for the Group 3 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Pat Smullen Mercury Stakes. Lady In France is a smart mare who was a disappointing 9th when last seen at Longchamp 19 days ago,she was hampered there but if she can reproduce the form that saw her finish 3rd in the Temple Stakes at Haydock back in May then she has every chance here. Harry's Bar picked up his career best win over this course and distance 3 weeks ago. He beat another one in this field The Highway Rat by 1 3/4 lengths and should be well up there again. The other worth a look is Urban Beat he won this race 12 months ago since then his only other victory came in the Rockingham Handicap at The Curragh in June. He was a bit below form when 3rd in a listed race at Tipperary when last seen 57 days ago however he should still be competitive and can't be ruled out.

Big race predictions: Sligo: 1: Churchstonewarrior  Dundalk: 8: Lady In France.

Wednesday, October 20, 2021

21/10/21 Thurles

The midweek meeting saw my pick Neo Soul finish 2nd,the 2/1 shot travelled well to dispute the lead at halfway. He led narrowly 2 out but was passed under a furlong from the finish. He rallied to challenge again in the closing stages but was just held off by Tosen Wish who won by a neck.

7 races take place at Thurles on Thursday and the highlight comes at 3.30 when 6 begin the He'llbremebered Hurdle. Stratum is a good dual purpose horse who's last win was the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. He has struggled a bit since then but retuning to hurdles here makes him the one to beat. The main challenger is Commander Of Fleet who upped his form when winning here back in March drawing clear to win by 1 3/4 lengths. Despite being off since then he is a major player on his reappearance and these two set the clear standard. The one who completes the shortlist is Doctor Duffy, this useful chaser was 8th when last seen at Punchestown back in March. However that run can largely be forgotten and he should give a good account of himself on this his return. The other one I like is Holymacapony he got back on track finishing 3rd in a hurdle at Galway 45 days ago after 7 months off and he should go well.

Big race prediction: 6: Stratum.

Tuesday, October 19, 2021

20/10/21 Navan

Tuesday's meeting saw my pick Sunset Shiraz win,the 1/7 favourite made all the running and was clear 2 out. She stayed on strongly inside the final furlong easily beating Princess Azure by 6 lengths.

We reach Wednesday and there are 8 races at Navan where the feature is the 1.15 when 14 begin the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Maiden. Neo Soul ran well to finish 2nd at The Curragh 24 days ago. He didn't quite have the finishing speed to trouble the winner but looking at that performance the slightly longer trip here should suit and he can get off the mark. Past Time picked up two second place finishes in maidens at Naas and Galway earlier on this year however she found the move up to listed company a bit beyond her at The Curragh 10 days ago,a better run should be on the cards as she returns to calmer waters here. Secret Magician was much improved when he finished 2nd at The Curragh last time and a repeat of that should see him well in the mix making him a threat while the other on the shortlist is Tosen Wish. This promising colt was 5th over this course and distance on debut 2 weeks ago. He ran on late after picking his way through the field and with improvement likely he can definitely challenge.

Big race prediction: 6: Neo Soul.

Monday, October 18, 2021

19/10/21 Gowran Park

We kicked off the week with my pick Skilled Warrior coming 2nd,the 9/2 shot was 4th at halfway. He moved into 2nd a furlong out but made no impression keeping on at the same pace,he was no threat to the winner Lust the 2/1 favourite romped home by 6 lengths.

Tuesday sees a second day at Gowran Park with 8 races on the card and the highlight ìs the 2.20 when 13 begin the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden. Despite the size of the field it's hard to look past Sunset Shiraz, this useful filly was a very creditable 3rd in a listed race at The Curragh 9 days ago. She sets the bar very high taking a big drop in grade and she will be very hard to beat. Princess Azure was a promising 3rd on debut at Limerick 10 days ago. She goes up in trip here and with improvement likely she is the main danger. The other shortlisted is Give Grace. This half-sister to Escobar makes her debut here and this interesting newcomer can definitely challenge. Of the rest with experience Serafina could go well. She was 8th on debut at Galway at the beginning of September but she didn't get a clear run there so cannot be discounted.

Big race prediction: 7: Sunset Shiraz.

18/10/21 Gowran Park

It was another excellent day with both my picks winning,at Naas Lady Of Inishfree was 7th early making headway approaching the straight. She led inside the final furlong and despite coming under pressure she kept on well winning by 1/2 a length. At Cork Poseidon was 5th after the 6th travelling well to sit 4th four out. He was on terms from 3 out and soon led. He asserted his authority before the last coming home by 3 1/2 lengths.

Another busy week begins with 8 races at Gowran Park on Monday where the highlight comes at 3.12 when 11 start the Lengthen Your Odds With Betvictor Handicap. Skilled Warrior last won at Roscommon in August and was an excellent 5th at Cork when last seen 20 days ago and he should add another victory here. New Hill has 2 wins from 4 runs this year her last was a career best on this course in June. Despite being off 127 days she shouldn't be taken lightly as she bids for a hat-trick. Rebel Step hasn't won in his last 11 starts but arrives here after finishing a respectable 7th in a handicap at Dundalk 10 days ago and he can definitely give another good account of himself here. Aurora Princess is a course winner who has already tasted victory 3 times this year. She was a bit below form when 8th at Punchestown 34 days ago but she can bounce back. The other who could challenge is Black Cat Bobby who has won over this course and distance with his latest win coming at Galway in July. He returned there to be a respectable 6th 41 days ago and should be competitive again.

Big race prediction: 3: Skilled Warrior.

17/10/21 Naas + Cork

Saturday was an interesting day at Leopardstown for my picks, in the 3.15 Homeless Songs was 6th. The 6/4 favourite sat 8th 2 out moving up to 6th entering the final furlong. She kept on without threatening in the closing stages with the 5/1 shot Glounthaune winning by 1/2 a length. At 3.45 Leo De Fury was 3rd,the 4/1 joint favourite chased the leaders and disputed the lead 2 out. He was still challenging but made no impression inside the final furlong dropping to 3rd near the line. The other joint favourite Georgeville comfortably won by 2 1/2  lengths.

The weekend comes to it's conclusion with 8 races at Naas and 7 at Cork, the main event at Naas is the 2.15 when 19 line-up for the Irish EBF Auction Series Final. Lady Of Inishfree is a promising horse who put in a good performance to finish 4th in the listed Ingabelle Stakes at Leopardstown 36 days ago. She looks a cut above here in calmer waters and is the pick on form. Corporal Violette caught the eye when a very close second in a maiden over this course and distance on debut 31 days ago. She only lost by a neck and with progress expected she deserves consideration. The other with the potential to do well is Giselles Ausie who after winning at Navan in September was a good third at The Curragh last month. She challenged late on and should improve here with the step up in trip suiting.

At Cork their feature contest comes at 4.15 when 10 begin the coopsuperstores.ie Handicap Chase. Poseidon is a useful winner over hurdles and despite unseating his rider in a chase at Listowel 28 days ago he makes his handicap chase debut here and should bounce back. Bridge Native arrives after a career best performance saw him win at Galway at the beginning of this month. He drew clear to win by 8 1/2 lengths and he is a danger. Abbey Magic is a course and distance winner who last tasted victory in a chase at Galway in July. She then went on to finish 3rd in the Pwc Champion Chase at Gowran Park 15 days ago and has a good chance after winning this 12 months ago. The other in the field to look at is Turbo his latest win was in a hurdle at Tramore in August and he was a creditable second in a handicap chase at Sedgefield 11 days ago so shouldn't be overlooked.

Big race predictions: Naas: 15: Lady Of Inishfree   Cork: 4: Poseidon.

Friday, October 15, 2021

16/10/21 Leopardstown

The week finished with my pick Red Heel coming 4th. The 9/1 shot was prominent from the start and soon led,she was passed just over a furlong out losing 3rd in the final strides. The race was won by Marbling the 11/5 favourite beat Sister Lola by a length.

Even though all eyes will be on Ascot for British Champions Day on Saturday there are still 8 races at Leopardstown with two features, the first is the 3.15 when 10 line-up for the Group 3 Richmond Homes Killavullan Stakes. Homeless Songs made a winning debut over this course and distance in July and the fact that she went off as short as 9/4 on only her second start in the Group one Moyglare Stud Stakes at The Curragh 34 days ago shows she is highly regarded. She ran well for a long way eventually finishing 5th and this smart prospect gets the nod. Glounthaune won at The Curragh on debut in April and will have learnt plenty from his 6th place finish in the Dewhurst at Newmarket a week ago. That run was needed and he will challenge here. The other who looks good is New Energy. He won a maiden at The Curragh on debut last month making all the running to come home by 2 1/2 lengths and he is definitely capable of making his presence felt in stronger company.

The other big race comes at 3.45 when 15 begin the listed Manguard Plus Trigo Stakes. This is an open race but my pick goes to Leo De Fury,he is a useful horse who didn't need to be at his best to win at Dundalk 29 days ago. He comfortably came home by 3 1/4 lengths and a follow-up victory should be on the cards here. Georgeville enjoys this course a second in the Desmond Stakes in August was followed up by a good 6th in the Boomerang Stakes 35 days ago. He was suited by the way the race developed and going back up in trip puts him on the shortlist. The other who should go well is Lough Derg a smart colt who was a very good second in the Diamond Stakes at Dundalk last month. He only lost by a neck to Bear Story (who goes again here) and looks competitive on form.

Big race predictions: 3.15: 9: Homeless Songs  3.45: 7: Leo De Fury.

15/10/21 Dundalk

Thursday was another day of differing fortunes for my picks,at The Curragh New York City was 3rd. The 10/11 favourite was up with the leaders early and sat 4th at halfway. He moved up to 2nd just over a furlong out but he made no impression inside the final 150 yards dropping to 3rd leaving the 5/2 shot Dancing Rebel to beat Special Power by 3/4 of a length. Over at Tramore Shuil Valentine was a non runner, the race was won by the 7/2 chance Nell's Well who overcame Motown Maggie by 1/2 a length.

The week is rounded off with 8 races at Dundalk on Friday where the highlight comes at 7.45 when 8 start the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap. Cases can be made for most of the field but Red Heel just shades it,a course winner she put in a solid effort to finish a good 3rd at Bellewstown 15 days ago and another performance like that could see her pick up her 4th win this year. Marbling put in a good final furlong to finish 5th on her All-weather debut over this course and distance last week and is definitely one to consider. Pretty Smart is also a course winner who picked up her latest victory at Cork in August, she was a respectable 3rd when she returned there 17 days ago and looks competitive on form. The other two with claims are Hodd's Girl who enjoys this course she won here in September and was a creditable 2nd 21 days ago. With her stable in good form she is a player while Sister Lola has won three times here. Her latest was in September and she was a good 3rd over course and distance a week ago so she definitely has a shout.

Big race prediction: 7: Red Heel.

14/10/21 The Curragh + Tramore

Wednesday saw results at either end of the scale for my picks,in the 3.30 Bold Enough was 5th. The 7/2 shot was 5th early but moved up to 3rd 3 out. He soon made no impression on the leaders dropping 2 places. The race was won by Embittered the 5/4 favourite beat Hurricane Georgie by 2 3/4 lengths. In the 4.05 Galvin won extending his record to 6 wins in a row. The 1/1 favourite made a slight mistake 3 out while 3rd but recovered to dispute the lead before the last. He led soon after staying on well inside the final furlong to beat Annamix by 1/2 a length.

There are two meetings on Thursday with 8 races at The Curragh and 7 at Tramore, the main event at The Curragh is the 1.40 when 11 begin the Hollywoodbets Money Back If 2nd To Sp Favourite Irish EBF Maiden. New York City should be hard to beat back in maiden company after he ran well in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket 19 days ago, despite finishing 9th he wasn't disgraced and dropping back to 5 furlongs is in his favour. Lopes Gold impressed on debut finishing 2nd at Naas and followed that up with another 2nd place finish at Navan in May. She moved up to a class 1 but finished last in the Blenheim Stakes at Fairyhouse 24 days ago however she has a good shout here going back down in class. The other who can battle for the minor honours is Dancing Rebel who was second when favourite in a maiden at Navan just 8 days ago,she was hampered there but definitely has possibilities here. Tramore's highlight is the 2.02 when 13 line-up for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle. Shuil Valentine was impressive when winning a bumper by 9 lengths on debut at Naas in March and despite being a disappointing 9th at Fairyhouse when last seen 6 months ago she remains an exciting prospect and going up in trip here means she is worth a chance on her hurdles debut. Broomfield Hall is the clear threat after finishing a very good second on her hurdles debut at Listowel 24 days ago. She definitely has more to offer and will go well. The other to look at is Motown Maggie a promising horse who finished 4th in a maiden hurdle at Down Royal 48 days ago. That was her debut and with plenty of improvement likely she can’t be dismissed.

Big race predictions: The Curragh: 2: New York City  Tramore: 2: Shuil Valentine.

13/10/21 Punchestown

Tuesday was an excellent day for my picks as for the first time in a while both of them won,in the 1.15 Cape Gentleman was always prominent and led from the 4th. He travelled well and was 6 lengths clear 2 out,the 7/4 chance kept on well comfortably beating Buddy Rich. In the other big race Bell Ex One chased the leaders and soon sat 3rd. The 4/5 favourite was 2nd 2 out and challenged entering the straight. He led on the run-in and despite being put under pressure in the final 50 yards he kept on well beating Sea Sessions by 1/2 a length.

The midweek meeting sees 7 races on a second day at Punchestown with two grade three's on the card, the first is at 3.30 when 6 begin the Extra Places Everyday At Betvictor Novice Chase. Three of the field go head-to-head again after running at Roscommon 16 days ago. Bold Enough was third that day in his first start for 9 weeks. He will be sharper now and should turn the tables on his two rivals. Embittered was only second by a neck and having picked up a win at Killarney in August he is a major player. The winner that day Exit Poll is also on the shortlist, that was his 2nd win from 6 runs this season he found something extra in the closing stages to pick up the victory and could go well again. Two others also ran in the race at Roscommon Hurricane Georgie was 4th. This fair chaser last won at Downpatrick in September and should progress while Presenting Bonnie came home 5th but she has 4 wins from 8 runs this season so neither should be overlooked. The other Grade 3 is at 4.05 when 5 start the Irish Daily Star Best For Racing Coverage Chase. The standout horse in this field is Galvin a smart chaser who won all 5 of his starts last season culminating in a 1 1/2 length victory in the National Hunt Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham Festival and he should extend his winning run here on his return. The other two on my shortlist last faced each other in the Kerry National at Listowel 3 weeks ago, Brahma Bull was a very good second in that race and has won on this course already this season that was back in May and he is a challenger again while Annamix was only a neck behind in 3rd and this smart chaser definitely has a good shout here.

Big race predictions: 3.30: 2: Bold Enough  4.05: 1: Galvin.

12/10/21 Punchestown

After a day off we begin the Irish racing week with 7 races at Punchestown on Tuesday and with Cheltenham on the horizon 2 contests standout. The first is at 1.15 when 6 begin the Watch Racing Free Online At Ladbrokes Beginners Chase. This is a good contest with the pick just going to Cape Gentleman a useful winner over hurdles who was a creditable 3rd in the Galway Handicap Hurdle when last seen in July. He makes his chase debut here which gives him the nod. Ballyadam was a long way back in second in the Supreme Novices at Cheltenham and was a below form 4th in the Mersey Novices Hurdle on his last outing 6 months ago, he is another making his chase debut and is a smart recruit to the ranks with a stable in good form he will definitely challenge. The best of the rest is Buddy Rich a useful chaser who was a good second at Killarney 9 days ago and with another bold showing likely he could beat the main two.

The other interesting race comes at 2.20 when 12 start the Ladbrokes Get Extra Places Every Day 3yo Hurdle. The winner of this race last year Quilixios went on to be first past the post in the Triumph Hurdle so will we see the 2022 winner come from this field? Bell Ex One isn't yet the finished article jumping wise but he did follow up the promise shown on his hurdles debut with a win at Listowel 23 days ago. He stayed on well to come home by 3 lengths that day and with this race not looking any stronger he should win again. Calvados was 3rd in that same Listowel race but can boast a victory over hurdles, that came at Ballinrobe in August and she could be up there again here. Of the one’s making their hurdles debut Laishann looks the best. He had a good flat career in France culminating in a second at Craon in June. This is also his Irish debut and he is definitely one to note.

Big race predictions: 1.15: 3: Cape Gentleman 2.20: 1: Bell Ex One.

10/10/21 Results

It's safe to say Sunday was a poor day for my picks,at The Curragh My Sister Sarah came 10th in the Irish Cesarewitch. The 11/1 shot was always at the rear of midfield making no impression from 2 out. She kept on at one pace in the final furlong and was never a factor. Upfront Line Out won beating Turnpike Trip by 1 1/2 lengths. It was only slightly better at Limerick with Cavalry Master coming 9th,the 6/1 chance was up with the leaders and was 5th after the 9th. He was 4th 3 out but lost a place after coming under pressure before 2 out. He weakened soon after allowing Ontheropes to win he beat A Wave Of The Sea by 2 1/4 lengths.

After a busy weekend there is no Irish racing on Monday, however the week does begin with meetings at Yarmouth, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton with an evening card at Kempton for your enjoyment. The next Irish meeting is at Punchestown on Tuesday my preview of that will be up on Monday night.

10/10/21 The Curragh + Limerick

Saturday was a reasonable day for my picks, at Fairyhouse Favori Logique was 3rd. The 6/4 favourite sat 5th at halfway and travelled well to be 3rd entering the straight. He kept on well on the run-in without reaching the leaders with the race going to Arrycan who beat Lord Lariat by 1/2 a length. At Limerick Star Of Cashel finished 4th. The 9/2 joint favourite tracked the leader early and sat 2nd 3 out. He dropped to 4th under 2 out keeping on at the same pace offering no extra close to home. The race was won by Maud Conne Spirit who came home by 3 lengths.

The weekend comes to an end with 7 races at The Curragh and 8 at Limerick with 2 standout contests, the first is the 3.05 at The Curragh when 33 begin the Paddy Power Irish Cesarewitch. My Sister Sarah last won in a handicap at Listowel in June and she was a respectable 8th at Galway when last seen 72 days ago. She has useful form over hurdles and in this highly competitive race she just gets the nod. National Ballet is a promising horse who has 1 win from 3 runs this year that came at Limerick in July and he was a very good 4th at Galway on his last run 76 days ago. He goes up in trip here but has plenty of potential so is a threat. Ebendi was 5th on his first outing for Joseph O’Brien at Killarney in mid August. He makes his handicap debut here and should go well. The other high on the shortlist is Monas Melody a two-time winner on the flat who was 8th at Leopardstown 29 days ago,she also goes up in trip and can't be ruled out. At Limerick their feature is at 3.55 when 18 line-up for the Jt Mcnamara Ladbrokes Munster National Handicap Chase. Here it's hard to look past Cavalry Master an excellent horse who made it 4 wins in a row in a novice chase at Killarney 86 days ago. He makes his handicap debut here and is definitely the one to beat. Chatham Street Lad didn't need to be at his best to win a Group 3 chase on this course when last seen in March. He beat Defi Bleu by 11 lengths and will be in the mix on this his season return. Funky Dady last won at Tipperary in July and was a respectable second at Listowel 16 days ago and on form he has a good chance. The other to look at in this cracking handicap is Ontheropes who was a very good second on his last outing at Fairyhouse back in November last year. He was no match for the winner that day but with this being his first run since then he can't be discounted.

Big race predictions: The Curragh: 15: My Sister Sarah  Limerick: 8: Cavalry Master.

9/10/21 Fairyhouse + Limerick

It was a decent Friday for both my picks,at Downpatrick Fissa was 3rd. The 8/13 favourite was up with the leaders early sitting 3rd at halfway. He was 2nd when he made a mistake 3 out but he recovered to be on terms at the next. He was passed soon after disputing 3rd at the last keeping on at one pace. The race went to the 40/1 shot Kingston Retreat who won by 3 3/4 lengths. Over at Dundalk Jack Rose won,the 11/8 favourite was 6th at halfway. He made headway travelling well early in the straight to lead by a furlong out,he soon asserted himself comfortably coming home by 2 1/2 lengths.

An exciting weekend begins on Saturday with 8 races at Fairyhouse and 7 at Limerick, the feature contest at Fairyhouse is the 2.30 when 14 begin the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Chase. Favori Logique has three wins from six runs this season his last was by an easy 10 lengths at Ballinrobe last month,he was running well when he fell at Sligo 24 days ago but despite that he sets the clear standard and must be taken seriously. Goodnightngodbless has been in good form recently and was a respectable 3rd at Listowel on her last run 2 weeks ago so definitely deserves respect. The other in the field to look at is Arrycan his last win was in a chase at Downpatrick back in June and he was a very good 3rd at Clonmel when last seen 9 days ago. He switches from hurdles to chasing here and should be in the mix. At Limerick the main event is the final race on the card at 4.35 when 13 line-up for the Jim Ryan Racecourse Services Munster Mile Handicap. Star Of Cashel seemed to be in good shape when 4th on his return at Listowel 18 days ago, that run was needed and with his trainer going well he should improve and not be taken lightly. No More Porter picked up his latest win at The Curragh in August and ran just as well when he returned there to finish 3rd 11 days ago. He should definitely give another good account of himself here. The other to keep an eye on is Comfort Line a course and distance winner in his career who is an up and down horse,a 3rd at Punchestown in mid September was followed up by a lesser race when he finished 7th at Listowel 18 days ago. However he can bounce back and on the pick of his form shouldn't be overlooked.

Big race predictions: Fairyhouse: 9: Favori Logique  Limerick: 6: Star Of Cashel.

8/10/21 Downpatrick + Dundalk

Thursday saw my pick All In The Mind finish 2nd,the 5/1 chance was prominent and led narrowly after a furlong. He was passed when he edged to the right a furlong out and soon made no impression keeping on at the same pace. The race was won by the 11/10 favourite Anchorage who came home by 4 lengths.

We end the week with 7 races at Downpatrick and 8 at Dundalk, the main event at Downpatrick is the 3.27 when 8 begin the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle. Fissa returned to action to finish a creditable 2nd in a novice hurdle at Clonmel when last seen back in May and he sets the clear standard here. Favori De Champdou is another making a comeback, his last win was in a bumper at Thurles 20 months ago. He makes his hurdles debut here and is a big threat despite his long absence. The other on my shortlist is Recite A Prayer who was a bit below recent form when 3rd in a novice hurdle on this course on his last outing 61 days ago,he was ridden with enthusiasm that day and was unlucky in the closing stages despite that another good showing is likely not ruling him out. At Dundalk the feature comes at 5.15 when 13 start the Irish EBF Median Sires Series (Colts & Geldings) Maiden. Jack Rose is a promising horse who has run well in his two outings,a 5th at The Curragh on debut at the beginning of August was followed up by a good 3rd on the same course 48 days ago. His stable is in good form and it could be third time lucky here. Mount Fairweather was a below form 9th at Roscommon 53 days ago but he is still a big threat based on his previous runs. The other one who should be considered is Navagio a colt who makes his 3rd appearance. He has looked in decent form when finishing 3rd at Cork on debut and another very good 3rd at The Curragh 2 weeks ago so he definitely can’t be overlooked.

Big race predictions: Downpatrick: 3: Fissa  Dundalk: 13: Jack Rose.

7/10/21 Thurles

On Wednesday my pick Emilie Gray was a non runner. The race was won by the 11/2 joint favourite Excuzio Joe who beat the other joint favourite Coill Na Sionianne by 1/2 a length.

Seven races take place at Thurles on Thursday with the highlight being the 1.45 when 7 line-up for the Thurles Nursery Handicap. All In The Mind looked good when 3rd in a maiden at Listowel 2 weeks ago,he was ridden prominently and did lead briefly before the straight and with this being his handicap debut he should go well. Capitulation was last a winner at Bellewstown in August. She was a good second at Listowel when last seen 16 days ago and is definitely a big player here. Anchorage has yet to pick up a win in his career but he was a respectable 2nd at Galway at the beginning of last month and making his handicap debut here means he deserves consideration. The other shortlisted is Play By The Rules who's best performance was a second at Killarney 49 days ago and another run like that will see him well in the mix.

Big race prediction: 2: All In The Mind.

6/10/21 Navan

It wasn't a good day on Tuesday with my pick Bold Emperor failing to finish. The 3/1 favourite led early and had a 5 length advantage at halfway. He saw his lead reduced from 2 out where he landed awkwardly and fell allowing the 5/1 chance Bridge Native to pull away and win by 8 1/2 lengths.

There are 8 races at Navan on Wednesday where the main event comes at 4.05 when 15 start the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap. Two of the field renew a rivalry from Listowel 2 weeks ago,Emilie Gray put up a good fight that day to finish second by a neck and given her recent form she should reverse the result here but the winner Petticoat Rule is still a serious threat. That victory was her career best performance and a second place at Gowran Park before that shows she is having a good spell. Rosmana bounced back after finishing 10th at Windsor with a good 4th at Punchestown 22 days ago,she goes on the shortlist with the easing ground in her favour. The other two to look at are Sasta who arrives after picking up a victory at Listowel last month and should go well while Mean Fomhair won a handicap at Bellewstown a week ago. She led inside the final 50 yards and just held on to come home by a short head and another run like that will see her in the mix.

Big race prediction: 1: Emilie Gray.

5/10/21 Galway

The week got off to a reasonable start with my pick Carrytheone coming 2nd,the 3/1 shot led early but was put under pressure from 2 out. He was passed soon after and made no further impression keeping on at the same pace inside the final furlong. The 5/2 favourite Maker Of Kings won by 5 1/2 lengths.

All Irish eyes turn to Galway on Tuesday where the highlight of a 7 race card comes at 4.05 when 8 begin the Guinness Handicap Chase. Bold Emperor picked up his latest win at Sligo last month, he was a respectable 4th at Listowel when last seen 10 days ago but errors cost him there so if those can be cut out he should be well up there so is worth another chance. The Big Galloper certainly wasn't disgraced when a creditable 5th at Punchestown on his last outing in December last year,he goes back down in trip here and is open to improvement judged on his hurdles form. Winter Escape has been a course and distance winner in his career and was 3rd at Ballinrobe 43 days ago so is definitely worth considering. The other to look at is Call A Cab who was a bit below form when 2nd in a novice chase at Ballinrobe back in May,despite this being his first run since then he can still make his presence felt.

Big race prediction: 6: Bold Emperor.

4/10/21 Tipperary

It was a good Sunday for both my picks. At Tipperary Saldier won,the 4/7 favourite made all the running and had a 5 length lead at halfway. He went further clear 4 out but his advantage began to be reduced from 3 out. His lead was down to a length when he made a mistake 2 out however he asserted himself again after the last staying on well to beat Darasso by 3 lengths. Over at Killarney Ally Cay was 2nd,the 15/2 shot disputed the lead from the 3rd and led from the 5th soon going clear. Her lead was slightly reduced from 4 out and after coming under pressure on the run-in she was  passed inside the final 50 yards. She had no extra allowing the 16/5 chance Digby to win by 1 1/4 lengths.

There are 8 races at Tipperary on Monday where the highlight is the 3.35 when 13 start the Group 3 Coolmore US Navy Flag Concorde Stakes. Carrytheone is a smart horse who picked up a victory at Gowran Park when last seen 16 days ago, he beat Forest Of Dreams by 3 1/2 lengths and should build on that here. Maker Of Kings is a course winner who was a very creditable 5th to Real Appeal in the Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown last month, his stable is on a good run and he can definitely make his presence felt. The other who could have a big say is Pretreville he was a below form 7th in the Prix Ris-Orangis at Deauville 85 days ago,he goes back up in trip here and with this being his first run for a new yard he should be well in the mix if at his best but this is a very open Group 3.

Big race prediction: 2: Carrytheone.

3/10/21 Tipperary + Killarney

Saturday was another mixed day for my picks,at Killarney Fiach Mchugh was 6th. The 11/2 shot led early but was pressed just over a furlong out,he was passed soon after and weakened in the final furlong. At the front Caroline Herschel won by 3 1/2 lengths. At Gowran Park Royal Rendezvous won. The 10/11 favourite was prominent throughout and led at the 5th,he was pressed before the 8th but led again 4 out. After being bumped by a rival and passed he led for a 3rd time at the last,he stayed on best on the run-in beating Hardline by 1/2 a length.

There are another two meetings on Sunday with 8 races at both Tipperary and Killarney, the main event at Tipperary comes at 1.30 with the best of a trio of Group three's on the card when 6 begin the Horse & Jockey Hotel Hurdle. Saldier showed he is a high-class hurdler when landing the Galway Hurdle in July, he came home by 2 lengths there and a repeat of that performance will make him tough to beat. Jason The Militant got back to winning ways taking the Red Mills Trial Hurdle back in February. Things didn't go to plan after that un seating his rider at the 7th in the Aintree Hurdle and finishing at the back in the Paddy Power Champion Hurdle when last seen in April however he still has a decent chance here. Of the rest Felix Desjy looks good despite being a temperamental horse he won back-to-back chases this time last year but ended last season below his best. In his career he has often gone well fresh so can't be ruled out on his return. At Killarney the big race is the 2.20 when 6 start the Killarney Plaza Hotel Rated Novice Hurdle. Ally Cay has 2 wins from 3 runs this season her career best came at Downpatrick 16 days ago where she easily won by 11 lengths and she is the pick here, the creditable second in that race Mars Harper goes again here. He is a useful hurdler who's only win this year came at Down Royal in June but he has plenty of appeal. The other who makes the shortlist is Sit Down Lucy who last tasted success at Limerick in April, despite not finishing in a handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe 23 days ago she is still worth considering.

Big race predictions: Tipperary: 4: Saldier  Killarney: 2: Ally Cay.

2/10/21 Killarney + Gowran Park

Friday saw a mixed bag of results for my 4 picks. At Gowran Park Getaway Gorgeous was 5th,the 11/2 shot chased the clear leaders early and was 5th 3 out. She made no impression from the next keeping on at one pace while upfront Western Victory won by an easy 10 lengths. In the 5.33 Hi Stranger was 2nd,the 3/1 shot was 8th 4 out but made headway entering the straight. She mounted a brief challenge a furlong out but made no impression in the final furlong allowing Quiet Escape to win by 3 1/2 lengths. At Dundalk Geocentric won,the 11/8 favourite led just before the straight and asserted her authority in the closing stages staying on well to win by 2 3/4 lengths. The only poor run was in the 6.45 when Absolute Ruler finished 10th. The 15/8 favourite was in midfield early making some headway but he was never dangerous with Snaffles winning by 3/4 of a length

Yet another busy weekend begins on Saturday with 7 races at Killarney and 8 at Gowran Park, the main event at Killarney is the opener on the card at 1.25 when 13 begin the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden. Fiach Mchugh improved when finishing 2nd at Listowel 11 days ago,he sets the standard and the longer trip here will suit making him tough to beat. Sun King was a promising 3rd on debut at Galway last month,he comes from the yard of Aiden O’Brien and has a Group 1 entry at Doncaster later this month so a bold run is expected in this one. The other two on the shortlist both make their debuts,Show Of Stars is a half-sister to Eagle One and it will be no surprise if she challenges while Caroline Herschel can boast Stela Star as a half-sister and this interesting newcomer should go well. Over at Gowran Park the feature comes at 3.20 when 6 start the Pwc Champion Chase. Royal Rendezvous showed he is a high-class chaser when winning the Galway Plate 66 days ago and he can definitely make his mark at this higher level. The obvious danger is Put The Kettle On who's two runs this year saw her win the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham before finishing 4th in the Celebration Chase at Sandown in April. She goes significantly up in trip here on her return but can still challenge. The other threat is Easy Game who won this race last year and after finishing 2nd in the Galway Plate went on to win at Listowel when last seen 2 weeks ago. On form he has a decent chance and should give another good account of himself here.

Big race predictions: Killarney: 5: Fiach Mchugh  Gowran Park: 5: Royal Rendezvous.

2/8/25 Galway

The best on Friday at Galway came from Cloud Seeker who was 5th in a race won by Nans View who beat Cheeky Wink by a head. The other pick N...
