14/6/22 Royal Ascot + Roscommon

On Monday at Kilbeggan Dark Spark won,the 5/4 favourite was prominent and disputed the lead at the 5th. Despite not being fluent from 3 out he challenged and led at the last keeping on well to beat Two Shoe Tom by 2 1/4 lengths. In the 8.00 You Raised Me Up was a non-runner. The race was won by Kapard who easily came home by 15 lengths.

The racing world will be concentrating on Royal Ascot for the rest of the week and there are three Group one’s on Tuesday.

2.30: Queen Anne Stakes (Group 1)

2: Baaeed: This top-class colt won all 6 of his starts last season including the Queen Elizabeth ll Stakes over course and distance. He blew his rivals away when taking the Lockinge at Newbury on his return and despite Ireland being represented by Order Of Australia he should make it 8 in a row.

3.40: King's Stand Stakes (Group 1)

5: Golden Pal: This American raider was only 7th in the Nunthorpe at York when last seen on these shores back in August. He is unbeaten in three runs since then picking up his hat-trick when taking victory at Keenland 66 days ago. He impressed that day and is definitely worth another chance here.

4.20: St James’s Palace Stakes (Group 1)

6: Coroebus: Proved he was a top-class horse when beating stablemate Native Trail by 3/4 of a length in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket in April. He is unlucky not to be unbeaten and sets the standard.

There are also 8 races at Roscommon where the feature is the 5.25 the Tote Connacht National Handicap Chase and my tip for that is number 7 Siberian Prince.
