Thursday was a mixed day for my picks,in the race at Tramore Downthecellar was 4th. The 3/1 favourite was at the rear after a mistake at the 1st and he was badly hampered at the 6th. He made no impression before the last and had no extra soon after,Vischio won beating Play The Game by 7 lengths. At Leopardstown Raadobarg was also 4th. The 4/1 shot was 3rd entering the straight dropping to 4th a furlong out. He had no extra allowing Boundless Ocean to win. In the 7.50 Point King won. The 8/11 favourite led from 2 out and was 2 lengths clear entering the final 150 yards beating Simply Glorious by 2 1/4 lengths.
Another double header on Friday sees 7 races at both Tramore and Cork with three highlights.
Tramore 4.50: Ey Chase.
3: Popong: Despite it being 12 runs since her last win she arrives here on the back of 2 good runner-up efforts this summer, her last was in the Midlands National at Kilbeggan in July. Those runs stand her in good stead here and she can taste success again.
Cork 6.00: Platinum Stakes.
1: Mutasarref: A smart horse who picked up his career best win at Naas when last seen 23 days ago. He was easily on top at the finish beating another in this field San Andreas by 3 1/2 lengths and with further improvement expected he can complete his hat-trick here.
Cork 7.40: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes (Group 3)
9: Perotan: An improving filly who made it 2 from 2 when taking a listed race at Down Royal 3 weeks ago. She beat Moon Daisy by 2 3/4 lengths and with more to come she should take this step up in class in her stride and make it 3 from 3.
