A decent Saturday at Cork saw both my picks finish 2nd, in the 2.12 Takarengo led after the 3rd but was passed 4 out. The 3/1 shot made no impression approaching the last keeping on at one pace on the run-in, Lucky Max won by 6 lengths. The 3.22 saw Ballyadam Destiny track the leaders and sit 4th at halfway. The 5/2 joint favourite made some headway before the last keeping on well to take 2nd in the closing stages, Weihnachts took the contest by 1 3/4 lengths.
Seven races take place at Naas on Sunday with two standing out.
1.20: Rathmore Stud Irish EBF Novice Chase.
1: Appreciate It: A high-class hurdler who had an unbeaten 2020/21 culminating with a 24 length win in the Supreme at Cheltenham. Made a winning chase debut at Punchestown 20 days ago coming home by a comfortable 7 lengths and this exciting fences prospect can follow up here before moving onto bigger things.
2.20: Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle (Grade 1)
7: Irish Point: A winner in France who made a successful hurdles debut at Cork in November. He was an excellent second behind Marine Nationale in the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse when last seen 35 days ago and despite going up in trip here which is a slight concern he sets the standard and should go well.
