An excellent Thursday at Naas saw both my picks win, in the 3.05 King Cuan tracked the leaders going 2nd two out. The 4/7 favourite found himself short of room soon after but kept on well to lead in the closing stages beating Jakajaro by a length. The later race saw Bright Stripes sit 4th at halfway making headway from two out. The 4/9 favourite led a furlong from the finish keeping on in the final 150 yards to beat Aratayvo by a length.
The third double header of the week takes place on Friday with seven races at Downpatrick and eight at Ballinrobe with two standing out.
Downpatrick 4.35: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.
1: Ceanndarta: A fair hurdler who has two wins from three runs this season her last was a career best at Killarney 57 days ago. She led from 3 out and despite being pressed at the last she kept on well just holding on to win by 1/2 a length. She makes her chase debut here and can continue her progression by completing a hat-trick.
Ballinrobe 4.50: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Handicap Hurdle.
5: Something Abouther: A promising horse who has picked up one win from three runs this season that came at Punchestown in June where she beat the reopposing Ginnets Girl by a comfortable 8 1/2 lengths. Her handicap debut at Galway 44 days ago can be overlooked and on form she has a decent chance to return to winning ways.
