The best on Saturday at Cork came from Baldur's Gate who was 2nd, the 2/1 favourite was 5th at halfway making headway to challenge 2 out. He disputed the lead at the last but made no impression close to home allowing R'evelyn Pleasure to win by 1/2 a length. The days other pick Extrapolation was 5th in a race won by Da Capo Glory who beat Rebel Early by a head.
If a 7.30am inspection is passed then Sunday sees 7 races at Naas with 2 features including the years first grade 1.
1.00: Betvictor Irish EBF Novice Chase.
2: Mister Policeman: A smart horse who impressed on his first Irish start when winning a hurdle by 2 1/4 lengths at Cork in April. He showed he can be an exciting prospect in this sphere when coming home by 3/4 of a length on chase debut at Fairyhouse in November and with plenty more to come he can take this and complete a hat-trick.
2.00: Lawlor's Of Naas Novice Hurdle ( Grade 1)
4: Firefox: A 3-time bumper winner who stood out on all fronts when successful on hurdles debut at Fairyhouse 5 weeks ago. He led entering the straight staying on well on the run-in to win by 2 1/2 lengths. That performance shows he is worth his place at this higher level and he can follow up.
