An excellent Thursday saw both my picks win. At Killarney Redwood Queen led after the 7th asserting herself before the last, the 5/6 favourite kept on well easily beating Instant Tendance by 4 lengths. Over at Leopardstown Diego Velazquez was 2nd approaching halfway leading 1 1/2 furlongs out, the 8/11 favourite drew clear in the closing stages beating Tarawa by 7 lengths.
Friday sees 7 races at both Killarney and Down Royal with 2 main events.
Killarney 3.40: Boylesports Handicap Chase.
5: Extrapolation: A horse with a decent record who picked up a career best win at Ballinrobe on his last outing 53 days ago. He was 4th at halfway leading from 2 out, he moved 3 lengths clear at the last extending his advantage on the run-in eventually beating Mighty Tom by 7 1/2 lengths. He makes his handicap chase debut here and can go in again.
Down Royal 5.07: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
6: Tempest Star: A promising horse who was a very good 2nd on debut at Naas 2 weeks ago. She led from 2 out going 1 1/2 lengths clear soon after, she was strongly pressed in the final 100 yards being passed in the last strides. With progress expected and her yard having a good spell she can go one better here.
