Friday's best came at Downpatrick where Marie's March was 3rd. The 7/2 shot was at the rear early but improved to sit 3rd at halfway, she had no extra close to home while upfront Prends Garde A Toi won beating Augusta George by 2 1/4 lengths. Over at Dundalk Proxima Centauri was 4th in a race won by Meg's A Star who beat Shelbiana by 1/2 a length while I Am Me finished 5th with the contest going to Glyndwr who beat Carrignarede by a neck.
A busy weekend begins on Saturday with 6 races at Fairyhouse and 7 at Naas with 3 main events.
Fairyhouse 2.50: Protection & Prosperity Financial Services Supporting Louth GAA Handicap Hurdle.
10: Bella Be Good: A decent horse who returned to form when a creditable 3rd at Galway just 4 days ago. She made headway from 2 out taking 3rd in the closing stages. The quick turnaround shouldn't be a problem and with a tongue strap back on she can pick up her 1st career win here.
Naas 3.10: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Birdcatcher Premier Nursery Handicap.
4: Last Encore: Has progressed with each run culminating with a win on nursery debut at Navan 44 days ago. He made good headway leading from 1 1/2 out, he stayed on well inside the final furlong coming home by 1 1/2 lengths. There is plenty more to come and he can follow up here.
Naas 3.50: RFL Steels Stakes.
1: My Mate Alfie: A smart horse who was last seen winning the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes at The Curragh 2 weeks ago. He travelled well leading in the final 150 yards beating the reopposing Big Gossey by 3/4 of a length. He looks the way to go and should complete a hat-trick here.
