On Wednesday both my picks finished 3rd. At Bellewstown Pansy Poe was 3rd at halfway but had dropped to 4th a furlong out, the 2/7 favourite regained 3rd close to home while upfront The Poacher Daly won beating Platino Bianco by 2 1/2 lengths. At Sligo Native Speaker challenged early but dropped to 3rd two out, the 4/7 favourite had no extra before the straight allowing Stuzzikini to beat El Champo by an easy 14 lengths.
It's the weeks 3rd double header on Thursday with 7 races at Clonmel and 8 at Bellewstown and we have 2 highlights.
Clonmel 3.55: Derrinlaur Mares Handicap Hurdle.
1: Stormalong: A progressive horse who's last win was at Tramore in August. She was 5th at halfway improving to challenge approaching the last, she led soon after coming home by 4 1/4 lengths. She was a good 3rd at Listowel 11 days ago and can continue her good form here by returning to winning ways.
Bellewstown 4.15: Kilsaran Race.
4: Chantilly: A useful colt who after winning back in April hasn't really kicked on as expected. He found the step up too much when 9th behind Trustyourinstinct in a Group 3 at Leopardstown 19 days ago but this drop in class will suit. His stable in in good form and he can pick up a 2nd career win here.
