13/2/25 Clonmel

An excellent Wednesday at Dundalk saw both my picks win. In the early race Tropical Retreat was at the rear early travelling well from a furlong out, he led in the final 100 yards with the 2/1 joint favourite beating Tino Pai by 1/2 a length. The other pick Genoah was 3rd at halfway making headway entering the straight, the 1/1 favourite moved to the front 2 out keeping on well to beat Annaghmccanns by 1 1/4 lengths.

On Thursday there are 8 races at Clonmel with 2 standing out.

1.45: Surehaul Mercedes- Benz Novice Hurdle (Grade 3)

1: Ballybow: A good horse who has 2 wins from 4 runs this season his career best coming at Naas 18 days ago. He was prominent making headway to lead from 2 out, he was soon clear staying on well on the run-in and coming home by 9 lengths. He goes up in trip here and should show further progress making him the one to beat.

4.05: SIS Supporting Irish Racing Novice Handicap Chase.

6: Jay Pee M: A promising horse who opened his account on fences debut at Cork a month ago. He was 5th at halfway travelling well to lead from 3 out, despite not being fluent at the last he asserted himself in the closing stages winning by 2 1/4 lengths. He switches to handicapping here and with more to offer he can follow up.
