Saturday's winner at Gowran Park was Kitzbuhel. The 2/7 favourite was in midfield improving into 2nd 4 out, he travelled well leading for a second time before the last. He kept on best in the closing stages beating Break My Soul by 2 3/4 lengths. The other pick Saint Sam was 2nd. The 2/5 favourite led early having a reduced advantage from 4 out. He was passed soon after by Classic Getaway who won by a comfortable 6 lengths.
On Sunday there are 7 races at Punchestown with 2 main events.
3.10: QuinnBet Grand National Trial Handicap Chase.
1: Velvet Elvis: A fair horse who ran his best race to date when a very good second in the Grade 3 Goffs Thyestes at Gowran Park 24 days ago. He led for a second time entering the straight being passed 2 out keeping on at the same pace going down by 2 1/4 lengths. He can build on that here and should go one better.
3.40: Madigan Group Irish EBF Sheila Bourke Novice Hurdle.
6: William Munny: A promising horse who has done well over hurdles including a second at Fairyhouse 22 days ago. He led after the first but was strongly pressed from the last after a slight mistake, he was passed in the closing stages making no further impression. He definitely has more to offer and can pick up a 3rd career win here.
