Thursday's best came at Leopardstown where Purview was 2nd. The 4/6 favourite was 3rd at halfway making headway to challenge in the final 150 yards, he kept on strongly but just failed to reach Snellen who won by a short head. Over at Killarney Shadow Paddy was 10th in a race won by Duty Bound who beat Duke Sliver by 1/2 a length.
Friday sees the weeks 4th double header with 8 races at Killarney and 7 at Down Royal with 2 features.
Killarney 3.40: Lee Strand Novice Chase.
3: Nurburgring: A smart horse who has shown promise in this sphere finishing 4th in a Grade 2 at the Cheltenham Festival in March. He warmed up for this with a very good second in a flat race at Royal Ascot last month travelling well and just going down by a neck. He is the one to beat here and should open his fences account.
Down Royal 5.10: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
4: Jack The Bachelor: A lightly-raced horse who improved from his debut when 2nd at Tipperary 16 days ago. He led early and despite coming under pressure he held on until the final 50 yards only losing by 1/2 a length. With further progress expected he can pick up a first career win here.
