Friday's winner came at Killarney where Nurburgring was 2nd early challenging from 4 out, the 8/13 favourite led soon after and despite a slight mistake he was 2 lengths clear before the last keeping on well on the run-in beating Special Cadeau by 4 1/2 lengths. Over at Down Royal Jack The Bachelor was 2nd, the 9/4 favourite led after two furlongs keeping on but being passed in the closing stages by Howd'yadoit who won by 1 1/4 lengths.
A top-class weekend at The Curragh begins with 8 races on Saturday where 2 top the bill.
2.35: GAIN Railway Stakes (Group 2.)
4: True Love: A promising horse who was last seen winning the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot 31 days ago. She challenged from a furlong out leading in the closing stages and coming home by 1 1/4 lengths. She sets a high standard for a yard who won this race last year and should follow up.
3.40: Juddmonte Irish Oaks (Group 1)
5: Minnie Haux: An excellent horse who completed a hat-trick in the Oaks at Epsom 6 weeks ago. She led from 2 out and despite being slightly hampered in the final 110 yards she kept on well just beating stablemate Whirl by a neck. There is still more to come and she can become the third Aidan O’Brien trained filly to achieve the oaks double.
