On Friday at Dundalk both my picks finished 2nd. In the opener Final Melody led early and was clear at halfway, the 7/4 favourite was strongly pressed being passed near the line by Sovereign Cry who won by a short head. The other race saw Great Plains Lady lead but she dropped to 2nd 1 1/2 out, she challenged inside the final furlong but couldn't catch Gonna Be Golden who won by a head.
We have 8 races at Fairyhouse on Saturday with 2 highlights.
12.02: Join Racing TV Now Rated Novice Chase.
5: The Enabler: A useful horse who was 3rd on fences debut at Punchestown three weeks ago. He travelled well making headway to lead from 3 out, he was passed soon after dropping to 3rd before the last keeping on at one pace. He should improve further and pick up a 4th career win here.
12.32: William Bourke Memorial 3-y-o Maiden Hurdle.
2: Ben Hur: A good horse on the flat who was 2nd on his first hurdles start at Navan 27 days ago. He recovered from a mistake two out to take 2nd inside the final furlong keeping on without troubling the winner. He definitely has more to offer and can go one better here.
