2/2/25 Leopardstown

An excellent Saturday at Leopardstown saw all 3 of my picks win. Final Demand was 5th at halfway leading approaching the last, the 11/8 favourite drew clear on the run-in easily beating Wingmen by 12 lengths. Majborough led from the 3rd recovering from a slight mistake 4 out to be 3 lengths clear soon after, the 8/11 favourite went further in front coming home by 9 lengths. In the days highlight Galopin Des Champs was clear at halfway keeping on well on the run-in pulling further away to beat Grangeclear West by 4 3/4 lengths. Afterwards he was cut to the 8/13 favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The Dublin Racing Festival reaches it’s conclusion on Sunday with 8 contests and 3 final Grade one’s topping the bill.

1.10: Ladbrokes Novice Chase (Grade 1)

2: Ballyburn: Last seasons leading novice hurdler who's Grade 1 victory’s included races here and at Cheltenham. He began his chase career with a win at Punchestown in November where he went clear from 3 out staying on strongly and coming home by 13 lengths. He was no match for Sir Gino at Kempton last time but this exciting horse can get back to winning ways here.

2.10: Ladbrokes Dublin Chase (Grade 1)

2: El Fabiolo: A horse with an excellent record winning 4 grade one's including this race last year. He wasn't seen at his best after that pulling up in the Queen Mother at Cheltenham and being a 4 length second behind Jonbon at Sandown when last seen in April. He is unbeaten here so must be taken seriously and he can pick up a 9th career win.

3.20: Irish Champion Hurdle (Grade 1)

3: State Man: A top-class hurdler who's highlight last season was winning the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. He put in a rare below par run when 3rd in the December Hurdle over course and distance 35 days ago but he can definitely bounce back and complete a hat-trick of wins in this race.
