Saturday's winner at The Curragh was Whirl. The 13/8 shot led early but was passed 2 out, she railled to lead again in the final 150 yards keeping on well to beat Kalpana by 1 1/4 lengths. The other pick Lady Iman was 2nd. She was 3rd at halfway improving to dispute the lead from a furlong out, she made no impression in the closing stages allowing Beautify to win by 2 lengths.
There is a 3rd day at The Curragh on Sunday where on a 9 race card we have 2 highlights.
3.30: Dubai Duty Free Rockingham Handicap.
3: Keke: A decent horse who has been a course and distance winner in his career. He was a respectable 2nd here 37 days ago where he sat 3rd entering the final furlong keeping on to take 2nd close to home. He is a big player who can return to winning ways here.
4.10: Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (Group 1)
2: Lambourn: An excellent horse who after winning the Chester Vase followed up with victory in the English Derby at Epsom 3 weeks ago. He made all the running going clear from 2 out, he stayed on strongly beating the reopposing Lazy Griff by 3 3/4 lengths. He stands out here and should complete the Derby double.
