On a poor Friday Desert Haven was 6th at Fairyhouse in a race won by Current Option who beat Verhoyen by 1 1/4 lengths while at Clonmel Ashdale Bob was a non-runner with Tag Man taking the contest beating Moonovercloon by 3/4 of a length.
A busy Saturday sees 8 races at Punchestown and 7 at Navan with 3 standing out.
Punchestown 1.57: Ladbrokes '5 A-Side' Handicap Chase.
5: Gaelic Art: A useful hurdles winner who was 3rd in a novice chase at Killarney when last seen 27 days ago. He led early and was clear from the fifth, he had a reduced advantage from 3 out and was passed soon after. He drops back down in trip here and is worth a chance on handicap chase debut.
Navan 3.30: Darley Irish EBF Kooyonga Stakes.
5: Asian Daze: A decent filly who was a good third at The Curragh 2 weeks ago. She was 4th at halfway and despite not getting a clear run from 2 out she kept on inside the final furlong taking 3rd close to home. She should go well again here and continue her good recent record.
Navan 4.05: TRI Equestrian Handicap.
4: Old Faithful: A good horse who put in a career best performance when winning at Naas a month ago. He was 3rd entering the straight challenging in the final 100 yards, he led in the last strides beating the reopposing Gibbs Island by a short head. He makes his handicap debut here and can follow up.
