4.05: Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby (Group 1)

1: Ambiente Friendly: A horse in excellent recent form who after winning the Derby Trial at Lingfield by 4 1/2 lengths only found the superstar City Of Troy too good in the big race at Epsom a month ago. He should take all the beating here and return to winning ways.

3/6/24 Gowran Park & Listowel

The best on a very poor Sunday came at Kilbeggan where Whatsafellatodo finished 6th in a race won by Mousey Brown who beat Optional Mix by 3 1/4 lengths. It was worse at Listowel where Promise Given was 11th with the contest going to Elzem who beat Shimmy Jimmy by 1 1/2 lengths.

Monday sees 7 races at both Gowran Park and Listowel with 2 standing out.

Gowran Park 3.35: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Gowran Classic.

16: Galileo Dame: A promising horse who was last seen finishing 4th behind Forest Fairy in the Chester Oaks at Chester 26 days ago. She sat at the rear improving from 2 out and staying on inside the final furlong. She has a good chance on form and with her stable having a decent spell she can return to winning ways here.

Listowel 3.50: Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle.

2: Comfort Zone: A useful horse who was a respectable 7th in a listed race at the Punchestown Festival when last seen 30 days ago. He goes back down to his favourite trip here so has to be taken seriously as he looks to continue his 2024 improvement.

2/6/24 Listowel & Kilbeggan

Saturday's winner came at Listowel where Shecouldbeanything sat 2nd 3 out travelling well to challenge two from the finish. The 10/3 shot led soon after asserting herself before the last keeping on strongly to beat Media Naranja by 4 lengths. At Tramore Implicit failed to finish being pulled up 3 out, the race went to Purse Price who beat Miss Oreo by an easy 8 lengths.

There are 8 races at Listowel and 7 at Kilbeggan on Sunday with 2 highlights.

Listowel 1.32: Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden.

11: Promise Given: A good-looking horse who caught the eye when finishing 6th on debut at Cork 23 days ago, she didn't get a clear run from 1 1/2 out but did keep on in the closing stages. Going up in trip here should suit and with improvement likely she has a good chance to open her account.

Kilbeggan 4.30: Cooke's Bar & Restaurant Caragh Handicap Chase.

7: Whatsafellatodo: A decent horse who was a very creditable 2nd at Ballinrobe just 6 days ago. He made progress to lead from 2 out being passed at the last and making no impression on the winner. If this race hasn't come too soon then he can go one better here.

2/8/25 Galway

The best on Friday at Galway came from Cloud Seeker who was 5th in a race won by Nans View who beat Cheeky Wink by a head. The other pick N...
