5/9/25 Down Royal & Kilbeggan

The best on a very poor Thursday at Laytown came from Raydamann who was 6th in a race won by Lohengrin who beat Yes Oui Si by 2 lengths. The other pick Eyema Candy Girl was 8th with the contest going to Dontspoilasale who beat Clonmacash by 1/2 a length.

A Friday double header sees 7 races at both Down Royal and Kilbeggan with 2 standing out.

Down Royal 4.15: Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden.

6: Killourney Reigns: A lightly-raced horse who found group 3 company too much when fifth behind Suzie Songs in the Anglesey Stakes at The Curragh 69 days ago. He showed potential before that and dropping down in trip here should suit, he is the one to beat and can open his account.

Kilbeggan 4.32: Sean Daly Memorial Handicap Hurdle.

12: Paul's Dream: A decent horse who was last seen winning at Wexford just 7 day's ago. She made good headway to lead from 3 out soon going clear, she stayed on well comfortably coming home by 5 1/2 lengths. She should improve further here and follow up.

4/9/25 Laytown

After a day off Irish racing returns on Thursday for it's annual trip to the beach at Laytown where on a 6 race card there are 2 highlights.

5.40: Download The New Tote App (Q.R.) Handicap.

4: Eyema Candy Girl: A fair horse who was a very good 4th at Dundalk when last seen 20 days ago. She was prominent sitting 3rd at halfway keeping on inside the final furlong dropping to 4th in the closing stages. She should continue her good recent form here back in handicap company picking up a 2nd career win.

6.10: Pride Of Place Maiden.

7: Raydamann: A useful horse who was a respectable fifth at Tramore 3 weeks ago. He made headway before the last soon sitting 3rd, he made no impression inside the final furlong losing places close to home. Dropping down in trip and returning to the flat should both suit and he can win again here.

2/9/25 Gowran Park

Monday's winner at Roscommon was Summer Is Tomorrow. The 7/4 favourite sat 5th two out making good headway to lead entering the final furlong, he stayed on well close to home beating Red Autumn by 3/4 of a length. The days other pick Pierre Royal was a non-runner.

On Tuesday we have 8 races at Gowran Park where there are 2 main events.

1.35: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

7: Minerva: A promising horse who was an excellent 2nd at The Curragh 24 days ago. She disputed the lead from 3 out getting to the front soon after, she was passed a furlong out keeping on at the same pace in the closing stages. She can definitely build on that here and go one better.

2.10: Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden.

12: Take Charge Star: A well-bred horse who was an encouraging 3rd on debut at The Curragh 10 days ago. He made headway from 2 out but found himself short of room entering the closing stages, he recovered slightly to take 3rd in the final strides. His stable is having a good spell and with more to come he can win here.

2/10/25 Bellewstown & Clonmel

On Wednesday both my picks finished 2nd. At Sligo Clonshire River led early having a  10 length advantage at halfway, that was reduced from...
