1/1/26 Tramore & Fairyhouse

 Wednesday's winner at Punchestown was El Fabiolo. The 6/4 favourite was 4 lengths clear at the 4th but had a reduced advantage from 3 out, he asserted himself before the last keeping on well on the run-in and easily beating Glen Kiln by 8 1/2 lengths. The days other pick A Dream To Share was 3rd in a race won by Hinden Arden who beat San Hilario by 1 1/2 lengths. 

 The first day of 2026 sees 7 races at both Tramore and Fairyhouse with 2 standing out. 

Tramore 2.25: O'Driscoll's Irish Whisky New Year’s Day Chase (Grade 3.)

5: Heart Wood: An excellent horse who's last win came in a Grade 3 at Punchestown in October. He disputed the lead 2 out getting to the front at the last, he kept on well coming home by 1 3/4 lengths. His latest outing was a 4th behind Gaelic Warrior in the John Durkan on the same course at the end of November and he is the one to beat here. 

Fairyhouse 2.45: YellowFord& Drumlin John & Chich Fowler Memorial Irish EBF Mares Chase (Grade 3.)

2: Dinoblue: A good horse who completed a hat-trick at Punchestown in May. She recovered from a bad mistake to finish 2nd in the Fortria Chase at Navan on her return and now back in mares company she can quickly resume winning ways.

31/12/25 Punchestown

 The final Irish racing card of the year takes place on Wednesday at Punchestown with 7 contests and 2 features. 

2.05: Make The Tote App Your New Year’s Resolution NYE Hurdle. 

5: El Fabiolo: A high-class chaser who has been a course winner in his career. He was last seen in the Grade 1 Champion Chase here back in April where he fell 2 out. That can be overlooked and with the return to hurdles here sure to suit he will be hard to beat if back to his best.

2.35: Tote's Cheers To 2026 Handicap Hurdle. 

4: A Dream To Share: A useful winner on the flat who was unlucky to be brought down at the first at Fairyhouse 32 days ago. He definitely has more to offer in this sphere and if recovered well he can pick up a 7th career win here.

29/12/25 Results

 At Leopardstown on Monday both my picks won. Wodhooh was 3rd at halfway making progress from 3 out, the 8/15 favourite led at the last keeping on well and beating Feet Of A Dancer by 2 1/4 lengths. In the days Grade 1 Lossiemouth tracked the leaders making headway to lead at the last, the 4/6 favourite stayed on strongly beating Brighterdaysahead by a length. At Limerick Combs was 3rd in a race won by Its Bilbo who beat Lenholeur De Palma by 1 3/4 lengths. 

 After a busy Christmas period Irish racing takes a break on Tuesday. There are meetings at Haydock, Taunton and Wolverhampton. The next Irish card is at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve tips for the features will be up on Tuesday night.

29/12/25 Leopardstown & Limerick

 Sunday's winner was Final Demand. The 1/3 favourite made all the running asserting himself from 2 out, he kept on well from the last easily beating Gold Dancer by 8 lengths. Over at Leopardstown both my picks finished 3rd. In the Christmas Hurdle Ballyburn was 2nd early but dropped to 3rd three out, he took 2nd soon after but made no impression before the last. Upfront Teahupoo beat Bob Olinger by 7 lengths. Galopin Des Champs travelled well to lead from 2 out, the 6/5 favourite was passed before the last dropping to 3rd in the closing stages. Affordale Fury won beating I Am Maximus by 2 1/2 lengths. 

 Eight races at Leopardstown top the bill on Monday with 2 highlights. 

1.22: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Kerrymount Mares Hurdle (Grade 3.)

1: Wodhooh: A smart horse who didn't need to be at her best when winning the grade 2 Ascot Hurdle 37 days ago. She led after the last soon going clear and beating Celtic Dino by 2 1/2 lengths. She has an excellent hurdles record and can add to that here picking up a 9th career win.

2.32: December Hurdle (Grade 1.)

8: Lossiemouth: A fine horse who has been a course and distance winner. She was last seen winning the Morgiana at Punchestown making all the running and easily coming home by 19 lengths. She is the standout in this field and should complete a 4-timer here.

There are also 8 races at Limerick where in the 1.07 my pick is number 11 Combs.

28/12/25 Limerick & Leopardstown

 Saturday's only winner came at Limerick where The Big Westerner led early but was challenged entering the straight, the 11/8 shot got to the front for a second time soon after keeping on well and beating Jade De Grugy by 2 3/4 lengths. Over at Leopardstown Marine Nationale was 2nd. He strongly pressed the leader and had every chance in the closing stages but couldn't reach Solness who won by 1/2 a length. The days other pick Love Me Tender was 3rd with the contest going to Skylight Hustle who beat Carrigmoornaspruce by 5 lengths.

 On Sunday there are seven races at both Limerick and Leopardstown with 3 Grade one's taking centre stage. 

Limerick 1.40: Guinness 00 Faugheen Novice Chase ( Grade 1.)

1: Final Demand: A decent horse who's last win came on chase debut at Navan in November. He was 2nd early leading from 2 out, he stayed on strongly easily coming home by 13 lengths. He should follow up here and give his trainer a third straight win in this race.

Leopardstown 1.55: Christmas Hurdle (Grade 1.)

1: Ballyburn: A top-class horse who finished 2nd on his hurdles return in the Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse 4 weeks ago. He was second before the last just failing to reach the reopposing Teahupoo who won by a nose. He can reverse those placings here and pick up a 9th career win. 

Leopardstown 2.30: Savills Chase (Grade 1.)

5: Galopin Des Champs: A standout horse who is 7 from 7 over fences here including taking the last two runnings of this race. His latest win was an easy 22 length success in the Punchestown Gold Cup back in April and he is the one to beat here on his return.

27/12/25 Leopardstown & Limerick

 On an excellent Friday three of my picks won. At Down Royal Los Blanco recovered from a mistake 3 out to lead soon after, the 5/4 favourite kept on well to beat Dunleer Crystal by 2 1/4 lengths. Over at Leopardstown Narciso Has led for a second time 3 out and was 3 lengths clear early in the straight, the 11/10 favourite drew clear beating Adrienne by an easy 11 lengths. In the days Grade 1 Romeo Coolio was 4th at halfway improving into 2nd before the last, he challenged leading close to home beating Irish Panther by 1/2 a length. In the Grade 2 at Limerick The Big Clubman was 5th in a race won by Kazansky who beat County Final by a head. 

 On Saturday there are 7 races at both Leopardstown and Limerick with 3 main events. 

Leopardstown 1.12: Paddy's Rewards Club Chase (Grade 1.)

5: Marine Nationale: An excellent chaser who after winning the Queen Mother at Cheltenham followed up when taking a Grade 1 at Punchestown on his last outing in April. He led before the last asserting himself on the run-in going clear and winning by 7 lengths. He is the one to beat here on his return and should achieve a hat-trick.

Limerick 1.27: Mcmahons Builders Providers Irish EBF Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2.)

5: The Big Westerner: A promising horse who was 2nd on fences debut at Fairyhouse a month ago. She was 2nd at the 8th challenging from 4 out, she made no impression in the closing stages going down by 4 lengths. With improvement likely she will be tough to beat here. 

Leopardstown 1.47: Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle (Grade 1.)

3: Love Me Tender: A good horse who remains unbeaten after winning a Grade 3 at Tipperary 83 days ago. He made all the running going clear on the run-in and easily coming home by 6 1/2 lengths. He should be taken seriously here and can make it four from four.

26/12/25 Leopardstown, Limerick & Down Royal

 Seven races at both Leopardstown and Limerick take centre stage on Boxing Day with 3 features. 

Leopardstown 1.10: Changing Times Brewery Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2.)

4: Narciso Has: A lightly-raced horse who after winning in France was 2nd on debut for Willie Mullins in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse in November. He made headway to challenge entering the straight but a slight mistake at the last saw him make no further impression. He can build on that here and pick up a 2nd career win. 

Limerick 1.33: Defender Novice Hurdle (Grade 2.)

4: The Big Clubman: A useful horse who was last seen finishing a good second at Navan five weeks ago. He sat 5th improving into 2nd approaching the last, he challenged but couldn't reach the winner. The step up in trip here will definitely suit and he can go one better.

Leopardstown 2.20: Racing Post Novice Chase (Grade 1.)

4: Romeo Coolio: A high-class horse who has made a good start to his chasing career winning at Down Royal and then following up in the Drinmore at Fairyhouse last month. He led from 2 out there easily coming home by 8 lengths. He is hard to look past here and should complete a hat-trick. 

There are also 7 races at Down Royal where in the 12.15 my pick is number 3 Los Blanco.

20/12/25 Results

 On Saturday at Thurles both my picks finished 2nd. Korinthia was 3rd at halfway making headway to lead from three out, the 6/5 favourite was passed on the run-in by Amen Kete who won by 2 1/4 lengths. In the other race Fiver Friday was 5th early improving into 2nd approaching the straight, the 3/1 shot disputed the lead from 2 out but made no impression close to home allowing Kotkito Bello to pull away and win by a comfortable 8 1/2 lengths. 

 After today's action Irish racing takes a Christmas break. There are meetings at Fakenham and Lingfield on Sunday with Lingfield, Huntingdon, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton on Monday. The next Irish cards are at Down Royal, Leopardstown and Limerick on Boxing Day tips for the highlights will be up on Christmas eve.

 Friday's winner at Dundalk was Nikki Swango. The 6/1 shot was sixth at halfway improving to challenge 2 out, she led narrowly inside the final furlong just holding on to beat Little Empire by a short head. The other pick This Guy finished 2nd. The 5/4 favourite led early but was passed close to home by Midnight Dusk who won by 1 1/4 lengths. 

 On Saturday there are 8 races at Thurles where 2 stand out. 

12.47: Billy Harney Memorial Irish EBF Boreen Belle Mares Novice Hurdle. 

7: Korinthia: A promising horse who won on hurdles debut at Ballinrobe in September. She was 3rd two out improving to lead soon after, she asserted herself close to home winning by 2 3/4 lengths. She built on that when 3rd in a Grade 3 at Down Royal 50 days ago and with more still to come she can resume winning ways here. 

1.22: WTW Willis Handicap Hurdle.

8: Fiver Friday: A good horse who ran well on his first start for a new yard finishing 3rd at The Curragh in October. He was at the rear early making headway to lead from a furlong out, he was passed in the closing stages dropping to 3rd and having no extra. That race was on the flat so a return to hurdles here will suit and he can pick up a 6th career win.

19/12/25 Dundalk

 After no action on Thursday Irish racing returns on Friday with 8 contests at Dundalk where there are 2 highlights.

 4.30: Happy Christmas From All At Dundalk Stadium Maiden. 

7: This Guy: A decent horse who was a very good second over course and distance just 9 days ago. He was 4th at halfway making headway to lead 1 1/2 out, he kept on well but was passed near the line going down by a nose. A repeat of that performance should be enough for him to open his account here. 

6.00: Dundalk Stadium Champion Trainer & Jockey Awards 2025 Handicap. 

10: Nikki Swango: An excellent horse who has won 3 of her last 4 starts here including over this races distance 16 days ago. She travelled well to lead from 2 out asserting herself and comfortably coming home by 2 3/4 lengths. Despite a 7lb weight rise she can continue her fine record and secure another course victory.

 Our winner on Wednesday at Dundalk was Instant Appeal. The 6/5 favourite sat towards the rear improving to challenge 1 1/2 out, he led narrowly soon after keeping on well in the closing stages beating Big Gossey by 1 1/4 lengths. In the other race Evening Blues was 2nd. The 13/8 favourite challenged for a second time 2 out soon leading, he was passed close to home by Camino Vino who won by 1 1/4 lengths. 

 Irish racing takes another day off on Thursday. There are meetings at Exeter (if a 7.30am inspection is passed,) and on the all-weather at Southwell and Chelmsford. The next Irish card is at Dundalk on Friday tips for the highlights will be up on Thursday night.

 After a day off Irish racing returns on Wednesday with 7 contests at Dundalk where we have 2 main events. 

 5.55: Bar 1 Betting Gift Vouchers Available In Shop Handicap. 

4: Instant Appeal: A useful horse who has taken to the all-weather winning twice here his latest coming earlier this month. He made headway entering the straight leading inside the final furlong and comfortably coming home by a length. A 5lb rise isn’t a worry and he can complete a hat-trick.

6.55: Bar 1 Betting Watch Live Racing On Our App Race.

2: Evening Blues: A fair horse who last tasted victory over course and distance 26 days ago. He was 2nd at halfway leading from 2 1/2 out, despite being strongly pressed he held on winning by a short head. He has the best form on show here and should follow up.

The 5/1 shot sat 3rd two out making headway into 2nd inside the final furlong, he stayed on well to lead near the line beating King Alexander by a neck. The other pick Springs Steen was 12th in a race won by TikTok Casey who beat Simply Natural by a short head.

 The best at Navan on Sunday came from May Call You Back who was 2nd. The 2/1 favourite was in Midfield making progress into fifth 4 out, she took second at the last keeping on without troubling the winner Battle Of Ridgeway who came home by 3 1/2 lengths. In the other race Keep Him Company was a non-runner. 

 A new week begins with 8 races at Naas on Monday where there are 2 features. 

11.50: Bar 1 Betting New App Out Now Beginners Chase. 

8: Prends Garde A Toi: A promising horse who was a good second on fences debut at Galway in October. He was prominent early challenging at halfway, he made no impression from the 7th staying on at the same pace. His run in a Grade 2 at Punchestown last time can be discounted and he should get back on track here with a 2nd career win.

3.20: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction (Pro/Am.) Flat Race.

3: Springs Steen: A well-bred horse who was 3rd on debut at Navan a month ago. He was 8th two out making headway into 5th soon after, he kept on well taking 3rd in the final 150 yards. He was left with a little too much to do that day but with improvement likely he can open his account here.

 An excellent Saturday at Fairyhouse saw both my picks win. The Enabler led from 3 out soon asserting himself, the 6/4 favourite kept on well on the run-in easily beating Talk In The Park by 15 lengths. In the other race Ben Hur was 5th at halfway moving into 3rd entering the straight, the 7/4 favourite made headway leading approaching the last and despite not being fluent he recovered to win by 2 lengths. 

 A 7 race card takes place at Navan on Sunday with 2 standing out. 

1.50: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Handicap Chase. 

10: May Call You Back: A decent horse who has a good recent record making it 2 from 2 at Gowran Park 36 days ago. She challenged entering the straight leading from two out, despite a slight mistake at the last she kept on well coming home by 3/4 of a length. She should go well again here and complete a hat-trick. 

3.35: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Future Champions Flat Race.

1: Keep Him Company: A lightly-raced horse who impressed when winning on debut at Fairyhouse last month. He travelled well leading for a second time in the final 150 yards, he stayed on winning by 3 lengths. With further improvement likely he can win again here.

 On Friday at Dundalk both my picks finished 2nd. In the opener Final Melody led early and was clear at halfway, the 7/4 favourite was strongly pressed being passed near the line by Sovereign Cry who won by a short head. The other race saw Great Plains Lady lead but she dropped to 2nd 1 1/2 out, she challenged inside the final furlong but couldn't catch Gonna Be Golden who won by a head.

 We have 8 races at Fairyhouse on Saturday with 2 highlights. 

12.02: Join Racing TV Now Rated Novice Chase.

5: The Enabler: A useful horse who was 3rd on fences debut at Punchestown three weeks ago. He travelled well making headway to lead from 3 out, he was passed soon after dropping to 3rd before the last keeping on at one pace. He should improve further and pick up a 4th career win here.

12.32: William Bourke Memorial 3-y-o Maiden Hurdle. 

2: Ben Hur: A good horse on the flat who was 2nd on his first hurdles start at Navan 27 days ago. He recovered from a mistake two out to take 2nd inside the final furlong keeping on without troubling the winner. He definitely has more to offer and can go one better here.

 On an excellent Thursday at Punchestown both my picks won. In the early race Kurasso Blue was 2nd early leading from 4 out, the 7/2 shot asserted himself before the last and despite having a reduced advantage close to home he beat Ballygunner Castle by 1 1/2 lengths. The days listed contest saw Echoing Silence track the leaders getting to the front entering the straight, she kept on well in the closing stages beating Switch From Diesel by 2 3/4 lengths. 

 On Friday there are 8 races at Dundalk with 2 main events. 

4.45: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.

6: Final Melody: A smart horse who showed improvement to win over course and distance 3 weeks ago. He led early asserting himself from a furlong out, he kept on strongly coming home by 3 lengths. That was only his second all-weather start so with plenty more to come he can follow up here.

6.15: Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden. 

2: Great Plains Lady: A fair horse who was 4th on this course on debut 14 days ago. She was in midfield sitting 7th two out, she improved to take 4th soon after keeping on at the same pace. The step up in trip here will suit and she should open her account.

11/10/25 Punchestown

 On Wednesday at Dundalk both my picks finished 2nd. Guardian Of Realm led early but she began to veer to the right from a furlong out, the 5/6 favourite kept on in the closing stages but was passed close to home by Mo Mhuirin who won by a nose. The other race saw Watch Tower sit 2nd at halfway but he made no impression in the final 100 yards allowing Golden Trigger to win by 2 lengths. 

 The meeting that was due to take place at Punchestown on Tuesday is now Thursday's action where on an 8 race card there are 2 features. 

12.20: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase. 

11: Kurasso Blue: A decent horse who won two of his first four starts his last being at Limerick in March. He was a good second on chase debut at Thurles 21 days ago leading at the 6th but being passed 3 out, he was one paced on the run-in going down by 3/4 of a length. He should progress further and can get back to winning ways here. 

1.20: Matchbook 50:50 Graduation Series Mares Novice Hurdle. 

5: Echoing Silence: A promising horse who won at Cork when last seen 39 days ago. She was 4th at halfway making progress from 3 out, she led soon after going clear and easily beating the reopposing Divaboriva by 6 lengths. She can definitely build on that here and complete the hat-trick.

 Neither of Tuesday's tips ran because the meeting at Punchestown was called off due to high storm force winds being forecast. The card has been rearranged for Thursday. 

 We move onto Dundalk on Wednesday where on an 8 race card 2 stand out. 

5.15: Dundalkstadium.com Fillies Maiden. 

6: Guardian Of Realm: A lightly-raced horse who was 2nd over course and distance on her last outing 19 days ago. She led early being strongly pressed from a furlong out, she was passed in the final 150 yards keeping on at the same pace. Despite being no match for the winner that day she wasn't disgraced and with more to come she can open her account here.

6.15: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden. 

13: Watch Tower: A good horse who finished 2nd over course and distance 3 weeks ago. He was 3rd at halfway staying on inside the final furlong taking 2nd close to home. That was his polytrack debut and a repeat of that should be enough for him to pick up a first career win here.

He was a good second on chase debut at Thurles 19 days ago leading at the 6th but being passed 3 out, he was one paced on the run-in going down by 3/4 of a length. He should progress further and get back to winning ways here. 

1.20: Matchbook 50:50 Graduation Series Mares Novice Hurdle. 

5: Echoing Silence: A promising horse who won at Cork when last seen 37 days ago. She was 4th at halfway making progress from 3 out, she led soon after going clear and easily beating the reopposing Divaboriva by 6 lengths. She can definitely build on that and complete the hat-trick here.

 Sunday's winner at Cork was Kala Conti. The 11/4 shot led for a second time 3 out going 4 lengths clear approaching the last, she kept on  well on the run-in easily beating Kargese by 16 lengths. In the days other Grade 2 Majborough was 2nd. The 4/6 favourite led early but wasn't fluent and a mistake 2 out saw him passed by Found A Fifty who won by 1 1/2 lengths. 

 After today's action Irish racing takes a break on Monday. There are meetings at Lingfield, Musselburgh, Fontwell and Wolverhampton. The next Irish card takes place at Punchestown on Tuesday tips for the highlights will be up on Monday night.

 The best on a very poor Saturday at Navan came from Port Authority who was 4th. The 1/1 favourite was 3rd early dropping down to 4th 2 out, he had no extra before the last soon weakening. Upfront Doctor Steinberg won beating Thedeviluno by 4 3/4 lengths. The days other pick Fascile Mode was 6th in a race won by Gringo D'aubrelle who beat Koori Star by 7 lengths. 

 On Sunday we have 8 races at Cork where 2 take centre stage. 

1.40: Coolmore N.H. Sires Order Of St George Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase (Grade 2.)

4: Kala Conti: A smart horse who impressed over hurdles her best recent performance being a 2nd in a Grade 3 at Leopardstown. She won on chase debut at Cork last month jumping well and coming home by 9 1/2 lengths. She has plenty of potential and despite this being a higher grade she can follow up here. 

2.50: Bar 1 Betting Hilly Way Chase (Grade 2.)

2: Majborough: An excellent horse who won the 2024 Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and then transferred to fences losing none of his ability winning grade one's at Leopardstown and Punchestown last season by a combined total of 23 lengths. With even more still to come this exciting 5-y-o can give his trainer a 17th win in this race since 2007.

 Friday's winner at Dundalk was Instant Appeal. The 2/1 joint favourite made headway entering the straight sitting 3rd 1 1/2 out, he led inside the final furlong staying on well and beating Carolina Jetstream by a length. In the other race God Of Power was 9th with the contest going to Senator Of State who beat Let's Smash It by a neck.

 There are 8 races at Navan on Saturday with 2 features. 

1.10: Tote Guarantee Never Beaten By Sp Navan Novice Hurdle (Grade 2.)

5: Port Authority: A useful horse who won on debut at Naas 27 days ago. He sat 2nd early leading before the last, he kept on well asserting himself on the run-in and easily coming home by 17 lengths. He goes up in trip here and with improvement on the cards he should win again. 

1.42: Bective Stud Tea Rooms & Apartments Handicap Hurdle. 

3: Fascile Mode: A good horse who was last seen finishing 2nd at Cheltenham 20 days ago. He made headway from 2 out staying on strongly to take second close to home. He switches from chasing to hurdles here and racing off a 6lb lower mark means he can pick up a 5th career win.

3: God Of Power: A promising horse who was 4th on debut over course and distance 2 weeks ago. He travelled well sitting 5th at halfway, he improved pressing the leaders a furlong out but he kept on at the same pace in the closing stages. If showing the improvement expected then he will be hard to beat here. 

6.00: Bar 1 Betting New App Out Now Handicap. 

7: Instant Appeal: A decent horse who has made a good start for a new yard culminating with a win over course and distance when last seen 30 days ago. He made headway from 2 out sitting 2nd entering the final furlong, he led in the last 100 yards coming home by 3/4 of a length. He should go well again here and can follow up.

3/12/25 Results

 Our winner on Wednesday at Dundalk was Fox In Flight. The 2/5 favourite was 4th at halfway making headway from 2 out, he led early in the final furlong keeping on well and beating Kiss Don't Tell by 3 lengths. In the other race All The Girls was 2nd. The 3/1 shot sat 5th early making progress from 2 out. She improved but made no impression allowing Greek Mythology to win by 3 1/4 lengths. 

 After today's action Irish racing takes another break on Thursday. There are meetings at Market Rasen, Leicester, Wincanton and Chelmsford. The next Irish card is at Dundalk on Friday tips for the highlights will be up on Thursday night.

3/12/25 Dundalk

 Tuesday's winner at Clonmel was Staffordshire Knot. The 8/13 favourite sat 2nd challenging at the 9th, he led approaching the straight asserting himself from two out keeping on well and easily beating French Dynamite by 10 lengths. The days other pick One Last Tango was 5th in a race won by Bridie's Beau who beat Trasna Na Pairce by 2 3/4 lengths.

 On Wednesday there are 7 races at Dundalk with 2 highlights.

3.20: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden. 

1: Fox In Flight: A lightly-raced horse who ran well to finish 3rd on this course when last seen 3 weeks ago. He led early going 2 lengths clear from a furlong out, he kept on well but was passed close to home dropping to 3rd. That was an encouraging performance and with more to come this is a good opportunity for him to open his account. 

4.25: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Race.

5: All The Girls: A fair horse who built on her debut when winning over course and distance 54 days ago. She was in midfield making headway from a furlong out, she led soon after keeping on strongly approaching the final 100 yards and coming home by 4 1/2 lengths. She can definitely build on that and follow up here.

2/12/25 Clonmel

If a 7.30am inspection is passed then after a day off Irish racing will return on Tuesday with 8 contests at Clonmel where 2 stand out. 

1.05: Jim Strang & Sons Kilsheelan (Peugeot.) Hurdle. 

4: Staffordshire Knot: An inconsistent horse who got back on track when winning at Punchestown just 9 days ago. He was 3rd approaching the 4th making progress to take 2nd three out, he led before the last asserting himself and coming home by 5 1/2 lengths. A repeat of that should be enough for him to follow up here. 

3.05: Next Race Meeting January 8th Novice Handicap Chase. 

1: One Last Tango: A good horse who's best recent performance was a 2nd at Tipperary in May. He finished a creditable 4th at Limerick when last seen 44 days ago recovering from a poor first half of the race to make headway sitting 4th two out, he had no extra soon after weakening before the last. This looks an easier race and he can pick up a fifth career win here.
