She travelled well disputing the lead from 2 out moving to the front before the last, she kept on strongly coming home by 6 1/2 lengths. She should take the step up to graded level in her stride and follow up here.

Down Royal 2.05: Bottlegreen Hurdle (Grade 3)

2: Brighterdaysahead: A useful hurdler who has been a course and distance winner in her career. She was last seen in April beating Staffordshire Knot by 7 1/2 lengths to take the Grade 1 Mersey Novices Hurdle at Aintree. She still has plenty of potential and can pick up an 8th win on her return.

4: Chester Nimitz: A promising horse who was a good second on debut at Navan 3 weeks ago. He disputed the lead from 2 out moving to the front soon after, he was strongly pressed being passed inside the final furlong going down by 1/2 a length. He should improve on that here and looks like the one to beat.

3: First Wave: A decent-looking horse who was 2nd on debut at The Curragh 25 days ago. He was 5th at halfway improving to sit 3rd 2 out, he led narrowly in the closing stages being passed close to home. 24/10/24 Clonmel

The best performance on Wednesday at Navan came from Mathan who was 2nd. 3.03: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.

10: Tareze: A lightly-raced horse who ran well to finish 2nd in a couple of races at Punchestown at the beginning of this year before finding the step up to Grade 1 level too much at Fairyhouse when last seen back in March. This is clearly an easier race and with sights lowered here this is a good opportunity for her to open her account.

3.38: Rathgormack Handicap Hurdle.

5: Old Bill Barley: Continued his progression when 3rd at Tipperary 18 days ago. He was 2nd at halfway leading from 3 out, he had challengers soon after and was passed 2 out. Leopardstown 2.25: Bahrain Turf Club Knockaire Stakes.

1: Power Under Me: A smart horse who has won over course and distance in his career. He didn't need to be at his best to win the Concorde Stakes at Tipperary 2 weeks ago travelling well to lead in the final 200 yards beating Fleur De Chine by 1 1/4 lengths. He looks back to his best and he can follow up here.

17/10/24 The Curragh

Another poor day at Punchestown on Wednesday saw Pink In The Park finish 4th. The 7/2 shot was at the rear early and never really improved, she was 5th three out keeping on at one pace. Upfront Jordans won beating Monbeg Park by 1/2 a length. In the other Grade 3 Conflated failed to finish unseating his rider at the 1st. French Dynamite won beating Minella Indo by 2 1/4 lengths.

12.45: Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden.

3: Cap Saint Martin: Has shown useful form on both his starts finishing 3rd on debut at Killarney before moving up to listed level where he was fifth at Deauville in August. That run can be overlooked and he sets the standard here for a yard having a good spell and he can open his account.

2.25: Equine Care Group- Nutritional Solutions Handicap.

1: Hero Of The Hour: A decent horse who has 3 wins from 11 runs this year. His career best came at Dundalk 2 weeks ago where he travelled well leading from a furlong out, he kept on in the final 150 yards coming home by 2 1/2 lengths. He returns to turf here and should follow up.

Punchestown stages Wednesday's meeting where on an 8 race card 2 stand out.

3.20: Betvictor Novice Chase (Grade 3)

7: Pink In The Park: A useful hurdles winner who was a creditable 2nd at Listowel 3 weeks ago. She made headway from 3 out but a bad mistake soon after stopped any momentum, she stayed on well on the run-in but couldn't catch the winner. She can definitely build on that here and go one better.

3.50: Betvictor Chase (Grade 3)

4: Conflated: A top-class chaser who was last seen finishing 6th behind Fastorslow in the Gold Cup on this course back in May. He led from the 2nd but some inconsistent jumping saw him passed 2 out dropping down the field before the last. That run can be overlooked and despite being off 168 days he is the pick on form and if anywhere near his best he should take this.

12: Kurrawa: A decent horse who ran to form when 4th at Cork 9 days ago. She improved from halfway but made no impression a furlong out keeping on at one pace. She goes significantly up in trip here and looking at this field she is the one to beat.

Tramore 3.15: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.

3: Cool Park: A promising horse who made a good start over hurdles when 3rd at Wexford 6 weeks ago. She recovered from a slight mistake at the 8th to sit 2nd entering the straight, she dropped to 3rd a furlong out and wasn’t able to trouble the leaders. Improvement is expected here and she can get off the mark.

9/10/24 Navan

Tuesday's winner at Galway was Buddy One. The 2/7 favourite made good headway to lead before the 4th, he was passed 2 out but stayed on to lead again on the run-in eventually beating Another Choice by 7 1/2 lengths. The other pick Will Do was 3rd in a race won by The Other Mozzie who beat Anyway by 1/2 a length.

On Wednesday we have 8 races at Navan with 2 main events.

3.51: Navan Racecourse Welcomes Our Local Community Maiden.

6: Isambard Brunel: An interesting horse who didn't enjoy the drop to 7 furlongs when 5th at Ascot 33 days ago. He was in touch early sitting in midfield from 2 out, he edged to the left and had no extra inside the final furlong. He returns to a mile here which will suit and with more to come he can open his account.

4.22: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.

3: Shavasi: Has shown progression in each of her five runs culminating with her second win at Punchestown 3 weeks ago. She travelled well leading from 3 out, the 11/4 shot went clear soon after and despite having a reduced advantage she easily came home by 2 3/4 lengths. A 9lb rise here shouldn’t be a problem and she can follow up.

8/10/24 Galway

The best on Monday came at Killarney where Heldtoransom was 3rd. The 6/5 favourite was 4th at halfway improving into 2nd a furlong out, he had no extra dropping to 3rd close to home. Upfront Tangapour won beating J M's Joy by 4 lengths. Over at Fairyhouse Machismo was 4th In a race won by Belle La Grand who beat Karate Kid by an easy 6 1/2 lengths.

There are 7 races at Galway on Tuesday with 2 standing out.

3.45: Guinness Chase.

4: Buddy One: A smart hurdler who was last seen finishing a creditable 4th behind Teahupoo in the Grade 1 Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown in May. Despite being off 159 days he is the pick on form and if his jumping holds up he will be very hard to beat here on chase debut.

4.15: Race In Pink Raceday On Sunday 27th October Beginners Chase.

8: Will Do: A useful horse who's last win was at Thurles in November last year. He put in his best recent performance when 4th at Punchestown 5 months ago. He tracked the leaders early taking 3rd two out, he dropped to 4th at the last keeping on at one pace. Despite that he looks the way to go here on his first start over the larger obstacles.

7/10/24 Killarney & Fairyhouse

A decent Sunday at Tipperary saw two of my picks win. In the first grade 3 Daddy Long Legs made all the running and was 5 lengths in front 3 out, the 1/1 favourite went further clear very easily beating Smooth Tom by 16 lengths. In the other grade 3 Shecouldbeanything was 4th at halfway improving to challenge at the last, the 2/1 shot led in the final 100 yards staying on to beat Gaelic Arc by 3/4 of a length. In the other races Mammas Girl was 8th while at Killarney Chutzpal came 3rd.

We begin a new week with 7 races at both Killarney and Fairyhouse on Monday with 2 highlights.

Killarney 1.45: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

2: Heldtoransom: A horse with promise who after finishing 3rd on debut at Galway was 7th at The Curragh 8 days ago. Despite being slowly away he made good late headway to take 7th inside the final furlong. He still has more to offer and has to be taken seriously as he looks for a 1st career win.

Fairyhouse 5.25: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Flat Race.

1: Machismo: A lightly-raced horse who was last seen finishing 4th in a bumper at Naas back in April. He was 2nd at halfway but had dropped to 4th by 2 out. Despite being off 6 months there is plenty more to come and he should open his account here.

6/10/24 Killarney & Tipperary

On a poor Saturday Firebird was 5th. The 8/11 favourite was in midfield making progress to sit 3rd a furlong out, she had no extra in the final 100 yards while upfront Oujda beat Ano Syra by 1/2 a length. Over at Gowran Park Conflated was a non-runner with the race going to Visionarian who beat French Dynamite by 4 lengths.

On Sunday we have 7 contests at Killarney but it's 3 on an 8 race card at Tipperary that top the bill.

2.30: Coolmore Sioux Nation Concorde Stakes.

7: Mammas Girl: A useful filly who finished 6th in the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown when last seen 22 days ago. She definitely wasn't disgraced there and going back down in class here will suit. She has a tongue strap on again and should pick up her first win in 12 runs.

3.40: Horse & Jockey Hotel Hurdle (Grade 3)

2: Daddy Long Legs: A smart hurdler who's latest win came at Punchestown in April. He travelled well and made headway from 3 out, he led narrowly soon after going clear before the last easily coming home by 5 lengths. His run at Galway 66 days ago can be overlooked and he can return to winning ways here.

4.50: O'Dwyer Steel Dundrum Novice Chase (Grade 3)

6: Shecouldbeanything: A promising horse who has 2 wins from 6 runs this season. She has tasted victory over hurdles and has taken to chasing well building on a good start when winning at Listowel 11 days ago. She is a big player here who should follow up.

The highlight at Killarney is the 2.50 where my pick is number 6 Chutzpal.

5/10/24 The Curragh & Gowran Park

Friday's best came at Dundalk where Benard Shaw was 3rd. The 10/11 favourite made good headway after a poor start to lead after two furlongs, he was passed a furlong out having no extra in the final 110 yards. Right And True won beating Comanche Brave by 1 1/4 lengths. In the other races Sayidah Dariyan was 6th with the contest going to Lady With The Lamp who beat Revoke by a head while at Gowran Park Cameletta Vega was 7th in a race won by Aruntothequeen who beat Mozzies  Sister by 3 lengths.

On Saturday there are 8 races at The Curragh and 7 at Gowran Park with 2 taking centre stage.

The Curragh 2.15: Darley Irish EBF Brigid's Pastures Stakes.

8: Firebird: A lightly-raced horse who was an excellent 2nd behind Shandy in the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes at Naas when last seen 41 days ago. She travelled well disputing the lead inside the final furlong only going down by a head. Her stable is in good form and she can pick up a 3rd career win here.

Gowran Park 3.40: PWC Champion Chase (Grade 2)

3: Conflated: A top-class chaser who was last seen finishing 6th behind Fastorslow in the Grade 1 Gold Cup at Punchestown back in May. Despite being off 157 days he has good claims here if judged on his runs at Cheltenham and Aintree earlier this year and with the drop in class expected to suit he can return to winning ways.

He kept on well easily beating Wudya by 6 lengths. In the race at Bellewstown Chantilly was 3rd with the contest going to Poetic Sound who beat Akecheta by 4 lengths.

A busy Friday sees 8 races at Gowran Park and 7 at Dundalk with 3 main events.

Gowran Park 5.20: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mucklemeg Mares Flat Race.

3: Camaletta Vega: A promising-looking horse who impressed when winning on debut at Galway in August. She made all the running asserting herself from a furlong out, she kept on strongly comfortably coming home by 3 3/4 lengths. She is well-bred and should follow up here.

Dundalk 6.15: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Legacy Stakes.

14: Sayidah Dariyan: A good horse who has one win from two runs this year, that came at Lingfield 24 days ago. She led all the way quickening a furlong out and winning by an unchallenged 13 lengths. That effort showed she is well worth her chance at this higher level and she can win again.

Dundalk 7.15: Irish Stallion Farms EBF Star Appeal Stakes.

2: Bernard Shaw: A decent horse who was 3rd in the Group 2 Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown 3 weeks ago. He was 2 lengths clear at halfway but lost the lead a furlong out dropping to 3rd. This is a slight drop in class and he is the one to beat.

She was a good 3rd at Listowel 11 days ago and can continue her good form here by returning to winning ways.

Bellewstown 4.15: Kilsaran Race.

4: Chantilly: A useful colt who after winning back in April hasn't really kicked on as expected. He found the step up too much when 9th behind Trustyourinstinct in a Group 3 at Leopardstown 19 days ago but this drop in class will suit. His stable in in good form and he can pick up a 2nd career win here.
